10 Best Organic Restaurants in Klang Valley!
2017-07-24
There’s a stereotype flying around that organic food is plastic disguised as a diamond — nothing but of blandness and ugliness with high prices. This is simply not true. Organic food doesn’t always have to be bland and unappetizing — if done right, they’re actually quite delicious and most importantly, healthy. Still not convinced? Well, you might want to check out these 10 organic restaurants then!

At Ashley’s, the menu caters to not only vegans and vegetarians, but also meat eaters! The Genmai Lei Cha is, perhaps, one of the most unique — essentially, a twist on Hakka lei cha that comes in the form of sautéed vegetables, tofu cubes and genmai tea with the choice of either Bario rice or quinoa. The combination results in a healthy and savoury tea-based flavour that will get your taste buds addicted.

Chef Low will earn from you a chef smooch the moment you step into their premises and smell the food from the kitchen. Unusual combinations are commonplace in the menu. The Classic Carbonara is the perfect and healthier alternative to lovers of Italian food who are looking to eat healthy. Food presentation will easily gain points for Slytherin and best of all, the flavours work well with one another.

Vegetarian nasi lemak? Yes, please! On one hand, you might miss the goodness of beef rendang, but Simple Life shows that it’s possible to complement good ol’ nasi lemak with vegetable alternatives. Asam laksa? They have it too — vegetarian style with the choice of either brown rice ramen or mee hoon. Sounds too good to be true!

Opika is talented when it comes to nailing the right flavours. Although the prices may be a bit high on the side, this Nordic-themed eatery will make your time with and money on them worth it. Food here is prepared in a way akin to the way the Nordics do their food. Their desserts will charm any sweet tooth they come across, with selections that include Prune Cheese Cake and Black Forest Cake that’s served with dark organic chocolate and brandy.

Customizable organic pizza? It’s real! Organic Express allows you to make your own pizza with a base of organic whole wheat with the choices of five organic vegetables complemented by either chicken or paneer. Their burger selections are tempting too, made with exotic ingredients that include the likes of beetroots, chickpeas and potato-based patties. You will be spoiled for choice!

Organic Leaf takes the “organic” in their name seriously, introducing organic vegetarian food that’s completely free of oil, with a menu that’s predominantly Chinese and Western. The restaurant’s specialty, Fuzhou Lor Mee, sees noodles amongst a sea of fragrant homemade broth, served with carrots, cabbages and shiitake mushrooms, resulting in a very delicious (and healthier) bowl of lor mee that you just can’t find anywhere else. Definitely not a dish to be missed at Organic Leaf.

South Indian vegetarian fare is what The Ganga Café is all about. Colourful selections grace the menu, waiting to be chosen and devoured by hungry customers. Most Indian finger food here is made healthier with the presence of ingredients such as oatz, maize, onions, spinaches and chickpeas. Classic flatbreads are substituted by a base of wheat, oats and the likes instead. A healthier Indian dinner is now made possible by The Ganga Café!

A  favourite amongst many vegans and vegetarians alike since 2008, Organic Recipe boasts reputable Chinese cuisine made with the highest quality of organic ingredients. The signature Sambal Petai Vegetarian Fish Roll has customers rolling in for plates after plates, especially. If you weren’t a fan of petai beans already, this dish will do a good job convincing you.

Fusion food takes the patrons by storm at The Origin. They take many kinds of food, including our beloved national rojak and sushi, and give them appetizing vegetarian spins as well as introduce some creative choices like Sambal Mushrooms and English Rendang Curry. Look through the menu and decide for yourself what to get, because there’s simply too much good stuff going on here. A mere few recommendations won’t be enough to cut it!

Huck’s Café makes it possible for you to savour authentic and organic Mediterranean and European cuisines that just so happen to also be free of MSG. Oh, and there’s a slight dash of Asian and Mexican as well. Hooray! At RM88++, you can get a fulfilling three-course meal served humbly by the owner. Change is not uncommon at Huck’s Café; new dishes may be added from time to time. The best thing is, of course, Huck’s Café stays true to their word about the authenticity and flavour of the food! Do note that reservations have to be made prior to arrival.
