The waiter recommended my friend to try their lemongrass tea. I seconded the waiter, and my friend decided to take our word for it. The cold lemon tea in Serai Restaurant is quite nice, based on my experience. The tea taste was very apparent, just like how a good mamak stall would make it. A slight taste of lemongrass it in, not too overwhelming, but just nice enough to spice up the tea. The ice diluted it some, but still a bery acceptable drink. Not too sweet, just right. The drink sounds rather unappetising. However, serai really wasn' the main ingredient. Lychee was. The awesome taste comes from blended lychees, tinned I believe. Pieces of lychees were still floating in the drink, with a tinge of lemongrass tsate. The unique combination is quite compatible, and very delicious. Not too sweet, it was very cleansing to the palate. There was a whole piece of lychee adorning the top, which was a nice touch. Piriced at RM10.50, it was well worth the amount paid.

Beef koay teow, or beef hor fun as stated in the menu, was acceptable, though not top notch. It was slightly different than the Chinese version, where the gravy has eggs in it. The dish came piping hot, which was good. The koay teow was lightly seared, hence it was light brown in colour. The gravy has a heavy oyster sauce taste, which was fine, just that it doesn't taste as good without eggs. The slices of beef weren't that many, probably about four to five pieces only. There were lots of vegeta

There were lots of vegetables though. Broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, snow peas, baby corn and even black fungus. Overall just so-so.

Wifey ordered the nasi lemak, her usual fare in Serai. I was pleased, as I wanted to have some too. The dish came piping hot, and the rice fluffy and full of santan taste. There was a generous helping of fried peanuts and crunchy anchovies, with a couple of slices of cucumbers. There was also a small pot of prawn sambal, spicy and delicious. The highlight of the meal has got to be the fried chicken thigh. Big and juicy, it was most enjoyable. Priced at RM16 per plate, it is definitely well worth

I didn't know that Shaftbury Square in Cyberjaya also housed a Serai Restaurant. When wifey and I were there to visit some friends, they brought us to this restaurant, citing the deliciousness of their fare. We were very much in agreement, as we had become loyal customers of their Empire and Paradigm Mall branch. I ordered the spaghetti vongole, which was one of my favourite type of pasta. I hope that they do not disappoint with western fare, as I have only had local fare in Serai. The vongole c

I hope that they do not disappoint with western fare, as I have only had local fare in Serai. The vongole came quite quick. With my first mouthful, I thought that it was a bit dry, but the noodles were done well, quite al dente. Subsequent mouthfuls proved to be better. The clams that were used were really fresh, tender and juicy. It was slightly salty, and rather spicy, but I liked it all the same. At a price tag of RM23, it doesn't come cheap, but definitely recommended.
