Even though their seafood is famous, they still provide other dishes as well. For instance, their fried chicken wing here are popular too! We have ordered many chicken wings, fried rice and others. Drinks we ordered Lemon Coconut! Very nice!

The chicken wing, they have their own recipe, it taste well! However, some chicken wings are big, some are small. The price count by per chicken wing. This can be improved! You can eat together with their special made chili sauce and belacan (shown in the picture).

Environment here is warm and hot even though fan is provided without air conditioner. Everyone eat until sweating here!

The fried sotong in Kwai Lam is not recommended at all. The sotong was overfried which resulted in a very chewy piece of seafood. The batter was also too hard and tasteless. Dry and unappetising, it was not a good ending to the meal. The fried sotong was served with thai chilli sauce dip, and that made it slightly more palatable. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t order this again.

The plate of choy tam served in Kwai Lam seemed a bit too measly, not really enough for two people. However, the quality was most definitely there. The choy tam was young and tender. Lightly sautéed with chopped garlic, the dish was refreshing after consuming so much meaty and oily stuff. Priced at RM8, it was slightly overpriced. At RM8, I would expect getting a bit more than this.

The grilled fish in Kwai Lam is very well done. Not overgrilled till dry, the meat of the stingray is very juicy and the skin very crispy. They also provided half a lime to rid of the fishy smell. The spicy and sourish chilli added a zing to the dish. The stingray was also young enough for us to chew on the soft bones. Overall a great dish. Priced at RM13, it is quite a steal.

The hokkien mee in Kwai Lam is one of the best I have ever tasted, albeit a bit too skimpy on the meat and vegetables. The noodles are springy, all of it well coated with sauce. There were bits of sawi, a prawn or two and a piece of sotong. But they did add a generous amount of fried pork lard, which was essential in a plate of hokkien mee. Quite delicious, and the portion is good enough for two. Priced at RM6 a plate, it is quite reasonable.

Nothing like a big class of lemon juice on a hot and humid evening. The best thing is, the drink is chilled in the refrigerator instead of being added with ice which will dilute the drink substantially. The lemon juice in Kwai Lam is fresh, invigorating and thirst-quenching. With bits of chopped sea coconut and longan, this beverage can be both a drink as well as dessert. Priced at RM2.80 per cup, it is a tad expensive but well worth the money.

After a good session of archery in Denai Alam, hubby and I decided to reward ourselves by visiting Kwai Lam Seafood Restaurant in Kampung Subang. It’s a good thing that we went there early, as the restaurant was pretty much jam packed by the time we finished ordering. First to arrive was the fried chicken wings.
