Had the Palaak Paneer also known as Kadaai which is essentially cottage cheese sauteed with palaak cooked in sauce, Butter Chicken Masala, Paratha (a flat bread), Tosai (a kind of pancake made from a fermented batter) and had the Mango Lassi to wash it all down. Love the chunky bits of cottage cheese in the Palaak Paneer and especially when the Paratha is so cripsy and yummy to go with it!

Satisfied with the main entries of Chennai food, definitely we are going to wash down our throat with their traditional quenchers too^^ So here we are, nicely 3 musketeers parading on the table Padam Kheer Although still bit sceptical about this drink, am still curious to try it out It is actually Indian Almond Milk recipe where you would still to enjoy the chunky small bites of almond. Padam Kheer
Although still bit sceptical about this drink, am still curious to try it out
It is actually Indian Almond Milk recipe where you would still to enjoy the chunky small bites of almond. It has a rich creamy taste that somehow overpowered the almond flavor. Quite a tantalizing drink that resembles the taste of melted ice cream, hehe. Still, i yet to figure out why it is in yellowish color..haha..

Mango Lassi
This is one of the most common traditional drinks of Indian Yogurt. It’s milky in texture and should anyone worry whether he or she could handle the original taste of Lassi, you may then ask for mango variety to better it up. With the addition of this tropical fruit, it has helped thicken the drink and give it a fruity flavor too.

Cinderella – Pineapple
Last but no least in this beautifully-named beverage, Cinderalla, my childhood favorite princess character ^^. Later only do I found out that it’s drink of the pineapple mixed with orange, hehe. This means it’s not the traditional drink of Chennai, but at least the citrusy helps to ease the tummy from being too full or cloying which results from generous intake of coconut milk dishes

You can also ask for papadum should you wish to snack on something, hehe. It is thinly crispy and full of spices aroma, not too salty either. Another staple food of Chennai worth to try is their Butter Naan Bread. The bread is nicely kneaded and thinly rolled that gives it a very enjoyable crispiness. If were to compare with Naan bread from Nawab, I think this eatery has done really a much better job! The butter was served melted on the surface of the freshly baked naan from the oven. It can be

Another staple food of Chennai worth to try is their Butter Naan Bread. The bread is nicely kneaded and thinly rolled that gives it a very enjoyable crispiness. Overall, this dinner served to be a mind-boggling one, at least for me
We enjoyed the whole meal on banana leaf, just the authentic way of savouring delicacy from the Eastern of the Indian subcontinent.

This authentic Chettinadu cuisine restaurant is located at Jalan Maarof, Bangsar with its humble beginnings started in Chennai more than 40 years ago. Now they have expanded the chain globally to wet the palate of people around the world, and at the same time, encourage cultural assimilation too. The outlet over here in Malaysia is quite conducive with air-conditioned surroundings in a brightly lit space.

You need not have to wait long before your order arrive pleasantly at your table, but don’t expect it to be a big portion either
I was told that most of the ingredients and spices used were imported, and I guess that explains why the portion is a bit decent at an affordable price, just like this Prawn Biryani.

Biryani is definitely a must-order dish whenever you’re exploring into the cultural world, in this case, Chennai food
This meal was served with tender prawns cooked in Basmati rice with spices. Each grain of rice is fully infused with the spices aroma and thus, very flavorful. It also comes with two types of dipping,; curry based and onions in sour yogurt. The yogury relish resembles the Jal Jeeder drink I had at Nawab.

Next to join our table is this Paneer Tikka Masala. It was highly recommended by my friend for this dish bears an ingredient that am always crazy about; Cheese! Haha..

Ironically, it look more like the Butter Chicken Masala or a fish cake in curry gravy
Paneer is an unaged and non-melting curd cheese made of milk and lemon juice, vinegar or any acidic sauce. It is quite chewy and tender, with the cheese taste isn’t that apparent, but it has a crisp singe on the surface. The Paneer was cooked with capsicum cubes, onions and tomatoes in masala, as a touch of Indian diaspora. It is also best enjoyed with biryani rice or even plain rice.

This restaurant actually is part of an international chain restaurant that origin from Chennai. The Chennai sounds familiar to you Yes, our roti canai actually comes from there.Many are drawn by its thali. This is a set consisting of rice or traditional bread, gravies, rassam and others. One of my favourite actually is the rassam at here. This is actually consider as indian soup which serve in a small cup. This soup taste quite hot and sour and brings up your appetite.
