The ocha comes steaming hot but soothing to the throat. The subtleness of the tea helps to clear up the oesophagus after a gastronomical fête that is pretty awesome, before each of us decided to call it a day.

ChawanmushiWhat seems to be the usual ubiquitous Chawanmushi, got me puzzled for awhile the moment it arrives. Not a single angle from this vessel that it reminds me of the familiar ceramic that usually comes with any chawanmushi. Anyway, the egg is silkily steamed and decently smooth, although there are some mini bubbles around. Mushroom is chewy alongside the tangy Japanese fishcake. As you dip further, you would be able to dig out one ‘gold’, a.k.a. gingko nut, that is well hidden at the bot

Chawanmushi

What seems to be the usual ubiquitous Chawanmushi, got me puzzled for awhile the moment it arrives. Agedashi TofuOne of the common hors d'oeuvre of any Zen dining will be the Agedashi Tofu. This type of appetizer can be prepared either chilled or hot, if deep fried or baked with cheese. The bean curd is smooth and siky, and its blandness is then complemented but the savory of the sauce that it has been flooded with since arrival. Quite a good try.

Hot UdonAs many of us know, udon has been one of the signature noodles as far as Japanese cuisine is of concerned. So it ought to be prepared as decently and as skillful as possible. Chicken Teriyaki DonChicken Teriyaki Don or literally known as grilled chicken fillet in Teriyaki sauce, is typically served in a bowl of rice. This fare served at Tokyo Kitchen seems quite alright, with the chicken meat remains tender and juicy after the grilling process. There is also some thin layer of crispiness on the outer skin that gives the meat a contrast texture. Quite delish with the fragrant skin slowly absorbs the savory sauce of teriyaki, before eaten with the rice.

Japanese fare would not be complete without the companion of Miso Soup. This signature of this Zen dining is a must, so to help balance up the overall meal, especially when you are enjoying fried food like tempura, which could be tad drier to the palate. Anyway, as commonly served in any eatery, the soup comes with a decent amount of smooth cubes of bean curd, seaweed or kelps, depending on the restaurant itself. For me, I prefer the latter type for having a better texture and it is thicker with the oceanic aroma. As for the soup, it is moderately infused with the miso paste flavor, but somehow, I feel that it is a bit salty, so they might want to go easier on it.

SaladAs the norm has it, salad would be the hors d'oeuvre to kick starts my feast. This bowl of salad by Tokyo Kitchen has a mixture of those common julienned purple cabbages, lettuce, carrot, slices of tomato and Japanese cucumber, that comes with complementing relish of light zesty dressing. I couldn’t actually figure out what base do they use but one thing for sure is, the dressing is appetizing with mild sourness.

Iced Lemon TeaYea, I know, calling for a glass of Iced Lemon Tea is never a thing when it comes to dining at Japanese restaurant. But I can’t help at that moment after a rushing from another event to reach here, that left me thirsty and wanting for something cool to chill out Luckily this lemony drink is quite a good thirst quencher, not too sweet but quite refreshing though.

At the al fresco dining area, you get to enjoy a more casual, garden-like theme with all the decorations of the artificial flowers and trees, plus some lighted electrical lantern. Comparatively, the ambience exudes in the interior dining is warmer and with some light touches of cottage-life feel with some paintings of traditional Japanese ladies.

Things are getting more and more expensive, my favorite dish - unagi set meal is getting more expensive their price increased almost 30 percent from the last time i visited here.But still i will order this, the unagi set is come with a unagi fish, soup, steam egg, and rice. The best part to eat the set is to have the rice with the tepayaki sauce on the unagiIf i were to rate this dish i would give 8/10

Want to have something healthy and not too heavy for lunch - my friend recommended me to order this, this is a set of japanese udon where they mainly used vegetables and taufu to cook their soup. besides that this set also come along with some fried prawn - japanese style.The udon mee were just nice - small portion it is enough for me but not for guysIf i were to rate this i would probably give 8/10

这个三文鱼寿司卷不是那种生的三文鱼片卷在一起的。三文鱼片经过微微的烧烤使得油脂更丰富,鱼肉看起来油油亮亮的,吃进嘴里都会散发一种浓郁的油脂味道,每一口都仿佛吃到三文鱼的鲜味。

喜欢吃这里的散文鱼饭。虽然三文鱼片都没有想象中的丰富油脂,不过单靠新鲜还有厚度适中的三文鱼片还有三文鱼本身散发出来的那种味道真的是让人觉得很幸福。吃了过后很有满足感
