Stating the obvious: Changkat Bukit Bintang has a nice new set of Racks. Streaky bacon sarnie, a British favorite. Come to think of it, Racks might be for pork at Changkat what The Magnificent Fish & Chips is for fish on this street. As a bonus, the service team is more than praiseworthy _ warm, welcoming & wonderfully helpful. Pork crackling with Racks' signature "Torture" spicy sauce. Slightly too hard to bite into; worthwhile for sharing in a large group, but two of us had a tough time finishing this. Char-grilled gammon with fried eggs, pinto beans & potatoes. Looks like luncheon meat at first, but this cut from a hog's hind legs boasts all the meatiness of a bona fide steak. continue reading

The winner of the night was undoubtedly the Racks' Pork Burger (RM 28). Easily one of the more juicy and flavourful pork burgers we've had in awhile, this thick pork patty was purely satisfying. They do serve it with a sauce of your choice: I chose the apple-chilli sauce which came with chunky cuts of sweet apple in it but I felt it didn't do the pork glorious-ness any justice And as if it isn't sinful enough, you can also opt to add an egg for RM 4! With strips of bacon on top, it looks a bit too salty, but it actually helps to take off some of the sweet flavour of the apple. Definitely a must-try! continue reading
