As that day calles for a milder palate pleasing food, I suppose getting a salubrious bowl of congee wouldn’t go wrong any way : )This outlet seems to be famous for its Raw Fish Porridge, where raw slices of fish are added to the hot bowl of freshly scooped congee. The congee is quite nice as it is thoroughly boiled till smooth. Asfor the raw fish, not to be worried as the time you reach home from take away, the fish would have been cooked in the piping hot porridge. Added with some sesame oil and light pepper dashes, it is good to go along with slices of ginger and fragrant scallions.  continue reading

continue reading

I love Hon Kee Porridge, especially the Raw Fish version. The raw fish are very thinly sliced and really fresh; making it a delight for dipping into the piping hot porridge (or you can just mix everything together!). I love that the porridge's cooked just right- neither too thick nor too watery :-) Mix your raw fish porridge together with the accompanying coriander leaves and slices of fresh ginger.. and drizzled it with a spoonful of sesame oil... heavenly!! continue reading

Hutong Foodcourt in Lot 10 has brought in many famous eateries around KL area into one stop. Meaning that, customers can enjoy all the good food without having to travel from one place to another. Furthermore, the environment in Hutong is cozy and relaxing with modern interior, definitely gives a more comfortable dining environment to diners. Hon Kee Porridge, a famous porridge shop originated from Petaling Street, has opened an outlet in Lot 10 Hutong Food Court too. Hon Kee Porridge stall in Hutong Foodcourt is bigger and cleaner comparing to the one in Petaling Street.Pork Intestine PorridgeSince I have tried before their famous fish porridge, I try on pork intestine porridge this time, and it taste equally good. The porridge is thick, rich, smooth and very tummy warming too. I like the deep fried pork intestine which is very crunchy and brings a cracking sound every time I munch into them, and the crunchy texture brings good complement to the smooth porridge, giving a taste in different texture. continue reading
