Siew Long Pau. It's famous Shanghai's meat dumpling with soup. But their version falls short. As you bite into it, the soup inside is supposed too ooze out and the dough is supposed to be moist. But, it was too dry and thick. There wasn't the right touch to this dish but I don't blame anyone, this requires great skills to make anyway. It wasn't worth my money though.

So I tried this fishball because I always have them whenever i go for my dim sum. It's a must for me. This one was quite bouncy and was quite savoury. I had two plates of it, definitely lip smacking fishballs! It was probably homemade and i think there were carrots inside. The sweetness of the carrots must have enhance the taste of the fishballs.

This was foo chok wrapped pork and it was something new on the menu. I've never seen or tried it before, so i thought why not. It looked pretty good anyway but taste wise, it was a little too bland. The filling was generously given but the texture of the foo chok wasn't so good. It was rough and thick, not to my liking definitely.

Har Kau. Didn't really like it. I thought the dough was tad thicker than usual. The prawns were succulent and juicy though. The dough was also a little drier and lack the much needed moisture. Both the dough and filling could be separated and although it looked pretty good, picture can be deceiving as well. This was either over steamed or steamed repeatedly. Not recommended at all.

Siew Mai. Tastes pretty good. They don't skimp on the meat. The filling was given generously and it was steamed well because its still juicy when I bit into it. The meat were so chunky and tasteful. The skin was a bit rough though, if only it was smoother, it'd be perfect. Try it out and you'll know what I'm explaining about.

This place is fully air conditioned - so nice place to slowly enjoy the food without getting 'steamed' myself - my only issue here is the parking during lunch hours - its a horror!! Well this is Taipan, you wouldn't expect anything less right?

Hong Kee Dim Sum, is the place where my family go to have our dim sum. Last time we usually go to a restaurant in SS15, Subang. But the quality of the food there decreased with time and now it's no longer a dim sum restaurant anymore. Hong Kee is a franchise and they have a couple of branches every where. I have so far seen two, which was one in Puchong and another one in Damansara Jaya. I've tried the Damasara Jaya one, the quality of the food was not as good as the one in Taipan. Brinjal, my f

Brinjal, my favorite vegetable. Everyone close to me knows that
I LOVE LOVE LOVE brinjal. Cook in anyway. I especially love Stuffed Brinjal with Fish Paste [Ai Gua]. Their brinjal was fried to perfection and not so oily. And the fish paste is very chewy and bouncy and goes very well with their sauce.

Shrimp Rice Roll [Har Chee Cheong Fan]. I really like their sauce for this. It's not only salty but also sweet. The rice roll is steamed when ordered, so it's not cold when serve. I have also tried their char siew one, which also taste as good as the shrimp one.

Mentioning dim sum, you mind will be filled with chee cheong fun, har gau, siu mai, loh mai kai, char siew bao, loh bak gou, and many many more. Of course egg tart is one of them too. Hong Kee Restaurant, being a dim sum shop, serves very nice egg tarts.Egg TartsAn order consists of three egg tarts, but you can always request for individual egg tart if you find three is too much. Their egg tart crust is very flaky, and the filling is silky, smooth and soft.
