農曆年初四,剛到吉隆坡,相熟的包車司機先生接我們機後,先帶我們來食紙包雞,肉嫩鎖汁,真的沒介紹錯。另叫了什麼雙骨(名字忘記了)味道普通、魚生撈起(聽說星馬一帶的人在新年時都會叫這款菜式,我們入鄉隨俗,當然也要試試嘛,加醬汁後,酸酸甜甜很惹味,有點吃沙律的感覺,但最好玩的是吃的過程,各人站起來說一聲祝福賀語。)、忘記什麼蝦(有少辣但很惹味,好像是亞參醬)、西芹腰果炒藕片(味道普通)、豆腐羹(清清地,幾好飲)。

It is our childhood memories to spend our weekends around Seri Kembangan area. Parents used to bring us to The Mines where there was a theme park (not too sure if it’s a water park) or only roller coaster ride as we were quite young back then. Couldn’t recall but we always end up having lunch at this wrapped chicken and yong tau foo place with a huge rock formation and fish pond. The last we heard, there was some family feud or some split up, now the siblings actually run the restaurant separate

So since we were on the way back from Sepang, we dropped by for a quick lunch. The row of shops was so crowded on a weekday lunch time that we had a bit of difficulty to find our parking. We decided to just double park and leave our numbers on the windscreen.

Of course since we were there, we ordered mixed yong tau foo pieces, wrapped chickens, deep fried calamari and their legendary and signature sweet and sour fish! Yong tau foo tasted average; the fish paste was okay but with a slight hint of salted fish might taste better like those Hakka ones. The wrapped chicken was still as good but the fish was normal. All in all we still enjoy our food there.

It wasn't my first time to Restoran Leong Ya Indah. Their signature dish would be the paper wrapped chicken which I have written on previously. This time around we tried their other famous dish, namely the Pork Belly with Salted Fish. When the dish arrived, I could smell the fragrant salted fish and meat which whetted my appetite. The dish itself was great, being spicy, savoury, not too oily, and really tasty. Highly recommended to order this dish the next time you drop by this restaurant.

Been to this place after taken exam with my colleague at that time. Leong Ya was famous with their paper wrapped chicken (纸包鸡), most ppl visit this restaurant just to try this dish.We ordered 2 per person to try out the taste. At the end, we order more because the taste is just too good.You will like the meat texture and the sauce (a bit sweet).Price was cheap about 10+. A must try dish.

梁雅有分梁雅&梁雅(女)。我两间都吃过。其实纸包鸡来说,我觉得是同样的。只是如果点菜吃饭,可能菜的好尺度就有点差别。可是真的大同小异。梁雅最著名的就是它的纸包鸡。它的纸包鸡可是上过很多报纸的噢!它的纸包鸡是by part的。怎么说呢, 就是每一包就是一个人的份。有时拿到鸡腿,有时鸡胸,有时鸡2度。完全是靠你的luck!因为他们也不能分辨什么是什么。觉得纸包鸡的素质有点退步了。没以前4-5年前那么好吃。可是还是值得一试啦!

After taking an early exit from the investment seminar, we headed outside searching for some nice eatery in the vicinity of The Mines area. As we were not familiar with the place, and we just drove nearby, then found one decent restaurant finally, hehe. It’s called Leong Ya Restaurant. The place was nicely air-conditioned with spacious dining space. The service rendered was pretty good as our orders were taken quite fast. So here come the famous Paper Wrapped Chicken or “Chee Bao Gai”. This is a speciality here which we do very much. Wrapped within the layers of paper was chicken meat engulfed in thick gravy. The meat was very tender with the dark sauce giving out taste of ginger, chinese wine and sweet soy sauce with chunks of garlic, which were infused thoroughly into the chicken meat. Reminds me of my mom’s best dish, hehe…

Next we had this Pai Guat Wong (Emporer Pork Ribs). It came to me a bit lighter in colours, compare to the normal one I have, which would be slightly rich in dark soy sauce. Nevertheless, the level was still there. Pretty good as the meat cutlet was soft and succulent. Even the gravy was special with a tinge of mayonnaise taste and some chillies. Good to go with a bowl of warm rice in the gooey sauce

Perhaps order some Stir Fried Kai Lan to join the table? The vegetable was cooked nicely with some savoury stock as the gravy base. Crunchy and not too hard. Besides that, their Yong Tau Fu fared quite good. It’s tangy with fish paste stuffed into the bean curd, chilies, brinjals and lady’s fingers. Great!

On top of my favourite chicken, I find the "pai kut ong" pork ribs very tasty. 9 years back the prices were way cheaper though. But I guess times have changed, and the cost for food has increased over the years. The honey glazed sweet and sour pork ribs were done perfectly. The meat was tender indeed, with the occasional bone, but thats what pork ribs are all about. The bones, and the feeling you get when you clean it off eating off everything but the bone. The honey glazed sweet and sour pork ribs were done perfectly. The meat was tender indeed, with the occasional bone, but thats what pork ribs are all about. The bones, and the feeling you get when you clean it off eating off everything but the bone. At RM15, the portions were definately enough for at least 3 diners to enjoy. Good!

The kailan dish was cooked on its own without any added garlic, nor salted fish. Surprisingly only with a tad of salt, stir fried with the juices from the vegetable, this kai lan vegetables was nice! A healthy dish indeed, one that you should order, on top of all the other meaty dished. Priced at rm10, it was reasonably priced, good enough to fill up the stomach with some much needed greenery. I can't say it's expensive, just wished the portions were bigger.

The restaurant is called Leong Ya Indah, gps coordinates 3°1'30"N 101°43'1"E (got this off the internet) I used to frequent this place often during my uni years some 9 years back. I was pleasantly surprised to see the restaurant still bustling with people, and my favorite paper wrapped chicken is still available as well!The paper wrapped chicken smelt so nice that the moment it reached my table, it took great will power to refrain myself from immediately tearing the paper and eating it straight

The paper wrapped chicken smelt so nice that the moment it reached my table, it took great will power to refrain myself from immediately tearing the paper and eating it straightaway. When I opened it, the fragrant smell itself was a reward in itself. The chicken had this sweet black sauce taste, moist, and tender since they have actually marinated it before sending it to bake in all its goodness.
