I had previously filed a complaint to their branch's manager. Unfortunately, there wasn't any reply from him, so I forwarded the email to the headquarter of OLDTOWN White Coffee. They replied, but it seems as if my feedback was not appreciated, and the issue is still unsolved. Please read my email below:

Dear (name),

This email is sent to you because I was told that you are the manager of Subang Avenue's OLDTOWN White Coffee.

On the 13th of December 2012 (Friday), after 10.30pm, I visited your outlet together with my other three friends to do revision. Initially, we were all sitting at the smoking area located on the upper floor. Soon, one of my friends and I moved to the non-smoking area, the table that says that it can only be used when there is a minimum of four person, and it was when disaster happened.

Indeed, there were only two of us at the moment. One of your waitresses came as soon as we settled down to ask if we have four person, or we should move to another table. It was followed by another waiter who came and said the same thing to us. Surely, it was our fault for not following what that was written earlier, so we asked the other two friends of ours to join us to make it four. Just so you know, it will definitely take a while for them to move their seats, because we were having Mathematics revision, and no one likes to be interrupted while solving questions. This, I believe, is absolutely understandable. Furthermore, your cafe was not even close to being fully occupied, so there was no need to rush at all. Am I right? We have clearly told your staffs that yes, the other two girls will join us in a bit, but one of them came to us again to repeat the same thing. Certainly, I started to feel annoyed. Very annoyed.

Soon, four of us were seated at the same table, so we thought that the problem was solved and that we could finally focus on our revision. Your waitresses apologized to my friends for causing trouble as they came to join my table, and my friends were pretty fine with that, until something more dramatic happened right after that. By the way, we have ordered a total of three cups of drinks at the moment, including Iced OLDTOWN White Coffee, Warm Water, and Iced OLDTOWN Enriched Chocolate.

Another waitress, A, came to us, took a menu, and started to convince my friends to order some drinks. She even mentioned that a cup of plain water would be fine. My friends did not intent to order at all. That's the point. Even if they did, they could have done it on their own. Logically, who would ever force customers to purchase or order this and that? Only Subang Avenue's OLDTOWN White Coffee did that, or does that, I suppose. Logically, are three drinks way too little for four ladies after dinner time? After A's offer was rejected, she rudely placed the menu back to where she took it from, and left.

Later on, she came back to us again and said that we had been occupying the place for more than two hours when we were merely there for less than an hour, and if we did not order more, we would have to move to another table. Again. Ridiculous! Initially, they said that if there're four person for the table, it will be fine. Then, they forced us to order more or we would have to move to another table again, when we already have enough people for that freaking table where no one was waiting in line. Seriously?!

My friends and I were extremely annoyed that one of them finally got mad and told her off, which it was totally reasonable for being treated in the worse way and badly disturbed continuously. She was lucky that we did not really scold her as we tried to control our anger. She then rudely stared at us as if we had the fault.

No, your staffs did not come for just thrice, but more than five times within that hour, especially A. It was too much. I have always been to a few of other OLDTOWN White Coffee outlets but never have I encountered such lousy waitresses, especially A.

P/S: It was not until later on that we realized that the table behind us (same type, for a minimum of four person) was only occupied by two person, and none of your staffs even bothered to bug them at all. Brilliant.

Really, what is your standard operating procedure? Where is the respect and priority for your customers who pay for even your lousy services? Please also provide FULL explanations about the kind of policy you have here, as well as how you have to rush people to make four person in a group almost immediately, how EACH of your customers MUST order drinks in order to stay for a few more hours, how we could not stay for long, how necessary it was to disturb your customers again and again about the table issue when no one was waiting for the table at all. Yes, FULL explanation for whatever my friends and I were unhappy about. If these were really the company's policy, where are the signs that say so in and around your cafe?

Whatever we had perceived was nothing compared to what we were expecting. It was indeed the worst experience we have ever had with restaurants of all categories.

I have no idea why these days I am so addicted to one of the Thailand desserts, Khao Niaow Ma Muang, which is mango with sticky rice mixed with coconut milk. Hence, I dragged my boyfriend into this restaurant in Sunway Pyramid called Thai Thai just to eat it.

We ordered a fresh coconut to share with each other. smile

When our Khao Niaow Ma Muang was served, we starred at the plate for a few seconds before we got to give any response because of how small the portion was. It cost us RM9 when I could actually get about RM4 or RM5 at other places for a larger portion of better taste.

That was when I realized pictures can really be deceiving sometimes, if not most of the time.

It wasn't my first visit to Matsuba Japanese Restaurant at Syopz, a building in the campus that offers a unique blend of retail and food and beverages outlets. Matsuba Japanese Restaurant seems to be one of the best available places in the campus among the other 23 outlets, which explains my return for lunch together with my friend, Kah Mun.

As usual, I ordered a Tamago Maki as snack, although my meal was filling enough. It wasn't as good as a sushi. It was nothing compared to those sold in Sakae Sushi or Rakuzen. It was slightly too pricy at RM2.50 per box per six pieces. It was just something more affordable that solved my craving.

Nuff said.

If I'm not mistaken, I was attacked by sore throat then. Instead of killing myself with a bowl of Chicken Katsu Don, I ordered Oyako Don at RM12.90, which the chicken was never fried, and mushrooms were added, topped with an egg that did not act as perfectly as an icing on a cake but still better than none.

For a person who never likes sashimi like me, I personally think that Matsuba Japanese Restaurant does not have a wide selection of food. I have been to this restaurant for no less than five times in total, and to date, my orders were always between Chicken Katsu Don and Oyako Don. Their Curry Rice is recommended too, if you are fine with curry with zero spiciness.

Hm.

T-Bowl Concept Restaurant OK Apr 27, 2013

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

It was a sudden decision to dine in T-Bowl Concept Restaurant once we got to know that one of the outlets is just located in Sunway Pyramid when we were looking through a directory to look for a place for dinner before the movie started.

Upon arrival, we were brought into the restaurant by two friendly yet sometimes annoying waiters to choose our preferred seats. We ended up sitting on toilet bowls. Seats for two persons were all with toilet bowls only. Honestly, I was so shy to sit on the toilet bowl, like seriously, even though most of the people in the restaurant were as well sitting on their toilet bowls. Whenever the children went into the restaurant, they only chose to sit on toilet bowls wtf.

They placed our rice into the toilet bowls! I like how cute the mini toilet bowls were but the white bowl inside just wouldn't stop moving, turning, and shaking when I was eating. Try to ask someone to move, turn and shake your bowl when you eat someday and see how annoying it could be then.

Last but not least, here comes the main character of the dinner – Chocolate Vanilla Delight. The taste was a little bit different compared to those that we usually eat in McDonald’s or somewhere else but I personally like the waffle underneath. Besides, I like the cereals beside the ice-cream even though it can be found everywhere.

Do you think it's interesting to dine in this restaurant for at least once? Never try, never know!

Brunch at Madam Kwan's Smile Apr 27, 2013

If you have heard of Madam Kwan's, you might as well have known about what it was mainly famous for, services and foods. At least to my mind, they served truly Malaysian cuisine with very efficient services. It was my second time dining in the same restaurant ever since the last day of July 2010, and it is located in Midvalley Megamall.

Some people might say that this is the best Nasi Lemak in town; yes it was, considering where Midvalley Megamall is located at but if you're to say it is the best Nasi Lemak ever, personally, I think the best one goes to Village Park Restaurant at Damansara Utama.

As for the one above, there're actually two types of Nasi Lemak stated in the menu and I nearly ordered the wrong one. One was way simpler and cheaper which I guess it didn't consist of chicken but the one we ordered was the more expensive Nasi Lemak which as you can see, there're chicken rendang, sambal, some spicy chicken floss, half of a boiled egg, and two pieces of cucumber. Two plates of Nasi Lemak were served within 5 to 10 minutes right after we placed our orders.

Apart from Village Park Restaurant that I mentioned previously, I agreed that Madam Kwan's also served one of the very few best Teh Tarik I have ever tried. Yummm! lol
