Barley Lime OK Sep 25, 2013

Barley Lime

Barley Lime is definitely one of the right choice to go with, especially when you are out during hot sunny day. My mom often used to boil the barley back in home, to help cool off the body, but without any lime lol So this fancy concoction seems pretty good to go, can try out next time. You get to taste some citrusy amidst the fragrance of barley in it. For healthier you, can go with sugar-free request lol

Cheese-baked Spaghetti OK Sep 25, 2013

Cheese-baked Spaghetti

One of the decent local eateries here that serves pretty up to par Hong Kong cuisine would be Wong Kok Char Chan Teng. It has since branched out to numerous outlets with the most chain concentrated at Klang Valley. Apart from the common oriental fare, you could try out the Western fusion menu such as the Cheese-baked Spaghetti. It is a dish of noodles where gooey amount of mozzarella cheese is being baked and melted on top of the pasta. It smells good and tastes simply superb. You can then choose to go along with Pumpkin sauce or any others of your preference.

Lotus Mooncake OK Sep 25, 2013

Lotus Mooncake

No time and don’t feel like squeezing with people at the mall to get those nostalgic pastry? I suppose it will be still decent to source it from the neighbourhood pasar malam as another alternative. This lotus mooncake comes in a normal palm-sized piece and the mooncake skin is baked just nice, not too thick and comes with acceptable level of sweetness from the lotus paste. It is also enjoyable too to munch on the seed in between.

Mix Cold Cut Platter OK Sep 25, 2013   (Related Review)

Mix Cold Cut Platter

Seems like the plate of supreme Mix Cold Cut Platter has made its presence known by stealing everyone’s attention the moment it is being delivered. For me personally, is the first ever experience to see such many types of red meats being dished up at one go on the wooden board. My friend for one jokingly said that it looks like a good meal for the tiger cub for the rawness it exudes lol Nevertheless, after some few sampling sessions, it is not that intimidating after all. I particularly enjoy the Calabra Salami for the mild wildness of spice it has. This cold cut is actually a dried cured spicy salami from South Italy that is smoked over maplewood that gives a rise to the unique aroma. For this sensuous variant, I enjoy having it with some pickled cucumber, mini onions on a soft slice of Farmer Bread, with some arugula salad. Plainly fantabulous! On top of that, you could also try out the other choices of ham like the Parma Ham (months aged ham), Salami Milnano (dried cured salami from Milano), Coppa Emiliana (Pork neck salt-cured) or even the Mortadella Emiliana (dried pork sausage that is cooked under low temperature with pistachio and black pepper, that is truthfully a saporous gourmet moment.

Miso Soup OK Sep 24, 2013   (Related Review)

Miso Soup

Japanese fare would not be complete without the companion of Miso Soup. This signature of this Zen dining is a must, so to help balance up the overall meal, especially when you are enjoying fried food like tempura, which could be tad drier to the palate. Anyway, as commonly served in any eatery, the soup comes with a decent amount of smooth cubes of bean curd, seaweed or kelps, depending on the restaurant itself. For me, I prefer the latter type for having a better texture and it is thicker with the oceanic aroma. As for the soup, it is moderately infused with the miso paste flavor, but somehow, I feel that it is a bit salty, so they might want to go easier on it.
