You could also find Rojak served at this local restaurant too. But of course, no way to be compared to those in Penang or Kuala Lumpur for the ingredients used were slightly different in a way of two. Sauce used was less pungent, didn’t looks like prawn paste, perhaps it was inhouse made. Fruits wise, you would find u cubes of pineapples, cucumber, fried fritters and bean curd, lesser varieties that I have seen so far. I guess it was another so-so dish to me .

ABC @ Swee Kang Ais Kacang OK Jan 21, 2014

It was my first trip to actually leaved my footprint in Kuching, Sarawak.

Thanks to a local buddy of my friend who brought us to this humble restaurant who seems to be patronized by lots of youngster staying in the vicinity.

We kicked off with the famous dessert served here, special ABC. From its simple presentation, it could be better took off as cendol due to the blandness of shaved ice. But hidden at the bottom of the ice bed was actually some mixture like sweet corns, jellies and some dices of watermelon surprisingly! Haha….. Overall, I think it was quite a normal dessert but unique to this town.

Finally, I made a maiden trip to Tambun, over a short catch up with my dearest alma mater pal, to have some so called famous Tambun seafood. But it was a hot weather that we have to bear, driving all the way from Georgetown.

Food generally was just ok, but seriously, they need to improve on the customer service for we personally think that they were bit boastful and impolite when taking our order. There was one uncle who didn’t bother to recommend to us what are the hot seller dish when we asked and showed us his cold shoulder. I didn’t chip in the earlier conversation between him and my friend as I don’t comprehend much Hokkien, else I would have given him my two cents.

The Fried Mantis Prawn with Salted Egg was appropriately done crisply and oiliness was still tolerable.

Marmite Chicken cutlets were quite juicy and boneless, making it a convenient consumption.

Sizzling Tofu was meagrely done, as it actually came quite cold and without any sizzling smokes thus dampened our anticipation.

As for the Fried Belacan Kangkung with Prawn, it was quite a letdown for it was very oily and the prawn was very bland and not juicy at all.

I wonder if commercialization has negatively inflicted their over-confidence and food quality the wrong way.

Half Baked Cheesecake OK Dec 26, 2013

Half Baked Cheesecake

Another episodes of cheesecake moments lol

Other than the usual pasta meal or bread whenever dining here, this time opt for something lighter but still lovesome. Saw this cutesy Half Baked Cheesecake as I pass by the dessert corner where they keep the environment chill for these sweeties.

As compared to the usual baked cheesecake, this mini fare is much moister and softer as you slowly savour them. It is also a bit fluffy and creaminess is on the lighter level. So for a person who don’t really enjoy too thick or cheesy stuff, this might just be one of the good option for your dessert plate.

Onion Rings OK Dec 26, 2013   (Related Review)

Onion Rings

As for the onion rings, it is just quite normal and somehow, lack the crispiness and lightness as compared to the usual one by other fast food chain. It is actually quite oily and the layer of bread crumbs seems to be insufficiently covered the entire onion rings. So there is some exposed area where it isn’t crunchy and merely biting on the onion itself. But at least it is using the fresh and unprocessed ingredient lol
