Rose Caramel Macchiato 3D OK Jul 15, 2014
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Western variety | Café | Steaks / Chops | Noodles

Coffee Chemistry Signature is not just a coffee cafe, they do serve Asian-Western fusion cuisines.

We kind of like the simple settings of this cafe, it gives a very comfortable atmosphere.

Each table is adorned with a potted flower centerpiece.

Rose caramel macchiato 3D (RM 12.90).
This is one of the popular drink in Coffee Chemistry Signature. Probably due to the adorable 3D art. And so..... I placed an order for this drink and it took awhile for the drink to be served. Doubtlessly the 3D bear foam is pretty darn cute, but this is not my favourite macchiato. This coffee is mouthfeel smooth though, not too sweet, not bitter. But the combination of flavour with notes of rose and caramel just simply do not tickle the taste buds of mine.

Passion fruits smoothies (RM 12.90).
Smooth and thick. Dan's all-time-favourite. Healthy, filling and refreshing. A tangy treat right for any time of the day.

Carbonara beef bacon mushroom pasta (RM 16).
A fabulous carbonara pasta. Creamy and cheesy, with lots of bacon and mushrooms. Thumbs up.

Escalope of chicken with mango chutney (RM20).
Quite a thin piece of chicken escalope and crunchy. People like me who do not fond of the texture of bland chicken breast find this chicken escalope pleasing, especially with the mango chutney (good balance of sweet and sour). An appetizing dish.
An escalope is a piece of boneless meat that has been thinned out (source from Wikepedia)

Gong Cha singnature milk green tea (RM 6.90)
It consists of three layers. Milk froth on top, followed by green tea in the middle and herbal jelly at the bottom.

The recommended ways to drink this tea.
First is to sip the freshly brewed tea through the milk froth without a straw. Second step is to slurp some tea followed by the milk through the straw for a smooth aftertaste. Last is to stir and enjoy a perfect blend of milky froth and aromatic tea.

This is how it looks like after you stir and mix all the layers. The milk froth itself was really good. However, the tea in overall was too milky and hence caused the green tea not so rich in taste. However, this drink in overall still acceptable because the creamy taste of the milk froth is really great.

Spending per head: Approximately RM7

Porky Chop OK Dec 09, 2013
Categories : Western variety | Restaurant | Steaks / Chops | Burgers / Sandwiches

Kind of shocked when I first saw their menu, simple design with only a few choices of dish.

Simple decorations in Hungry Hog give me some kind of home living feel and very comfortable.

Lemonade (RM3.50). For me, to have pork dishes together with lemonade drink are perfect.

The porky chops (RM19.90), reasonable price. These juicy pork chops are served with honey mustard sauce, watercress and mash potato. This is the first time I know the existence of watercress, a type of aquatic plants and known leaf vegetables which contains very high amounts of iron, calcium, iodine, folic acid, vitamin A and C. Watercress so rich in nutrients and so much health benefits, but too bad I don't like it -.- Forget about the watercress and back to the main "cast" - the pork chop. It is nicely grilled and very juicy but somehow we don't really like the sauce and can't finish it. The mashed potato is soft and tastes good.

Roast pork aglio-olio OK Dec 06, 2013   (Related Review)

Roast pork aglio-olio. A pasta with sauteed garlic, chili flake and roast pork. This suits the taste buds of people who likes foods with chili flake. The spiciness is bearable especially for a person like me who can't really take spicy foods. However, the taste is not so impressed but the roast pork is great.

Brussels Beer Cafe is a cafe most well-known for its Belgium beer, in particular the Hoegaarden, Stella Artois and Leffe. However, we went to the branch which located at Jaya One for their set lunch instead of beer. For your information, they are offering four different set lunch menu, namely menu A, B, C and D respectively, with four choices of set lunch in each menu. Only set lunch menu C is available on the day we went. Choices of set lunch in menu C including grilled beef steak, aglio-olio pasta, grilled lamb chop and fish & chips. Each order of set lunch costs us only RM 17.80 per pax and it is inclusive of buffet style fruit & salad bar and a glass of soft drink. A very good deal isn't it? Having this type of lunch once in awhile during working days is simply awesome. Photo below shows the menu of Brussels Beer Cafe.

A & W root beer is the soft drink that comes with the set lunch we ordered. They give us a tin instead of a glass which filled with ice.

Grilled beef sirloin with coffee sauce and baked carrots. This is one of the set lunch we ordered. The grilled beef is good although not juicy and tender. As for the coffee sauce, it was over-cooked with mild bitterness, but still acceptable.

My friend did ordered their grilled lamb chop. The lamb chop was served with mint yogurt gravy and scallion mash potatoes. Thumbs up. Not to forget to mention the portion size, average portion size but you will definitely wont leave with a hungry stomach because the free fruits and salads could play a role adding bulk to your meals.

Spending per head: Approximately RM18(午餐)
