This is my 1st review here. So for a start I'll have a simple start.

First Impression
I have driven pass this shop many times but I was not interested in patronizing it because it is an air conditioned Bak Kut Teh (BKT) shop. I am prejudiced against BKT outlets that are not in stalls and simple looking shop lots - I suspect they don't serve the real tasty traditional dishes.
But I was wrong. Thanks to OpenRice for their invitation to taste Yu Yi's food otherwise I would have short changed myself forever for not feasting in this unique shop.
This place is clean and the staff are friendly. Parking is ample.

Menu
The name Yu Yi Bak Kut Teh is concealing their other tantalising tasty dishes. As you can see they have a variety of dishes. My review of the Nonya Bak Kut Teh
This dish is truly unique in terms of taste. It is a fusion of taste packed in one small clay pot.

According to the owner, it is a healthy concoction of fresh ingredients. Experimenting over time, the owner came up with this unique flavor that stimulated my taste buds.

I had the unique opportunity of "blind" testing this dish. I was blindfolded and told to taste the dish without being pre informed about the food I was about to taste. My first impression was it was pork brewed in herbal soup with a distinct Assam taste. And when I was told it is their Nonya Bak Kut Teh, I was truly impressed. I have never tasted anything like that. Even tough the overall flavor is Assam biased, I could still taste the traditional BKT flavor.

The soupy gravy is certainly delicious and the pork meat is chewy tender. Each bite releases the aromatic juicy gravy brewed into the meat.

Because of it's Assam flavor, it is a very mouth watery, spicy and appetising dish that will definitely stimulate your appetite.
