When I first saw this place, it struck me as expensive-looking with the signboard and the decor. Then, I decided, since I was already there with my parents, why not give it a try. To my surprise, I met my two colleagues who happened to be going out together. I approached them and asked how was the food there. They told me, it was ok and it was also their first time there.

I saw the notice board which shows Today's Specials and the Lamb Loin was displayed as RM 45! I thought it was quite expensive but me and dad approached the Filipino waiter for the menu. And I was shocked to see that the price is quite reasonable at less than RM 20 for spaghetti and even some mains.

Mum ordered the Chicken Mushroom Pie for only RM 10 which would have otherwise cost at least more than RM 20 in places like Dome and Secret Recipe. The crust was normal to me and not crispy thin as expected but ok. The stew inside was a little spicy with button mushrooms and also chicken and carrots.

Dad ordered the best wild mushroom soup ever for only RM 9. It was made of oyster mushrooms and also shitake mushrooms. One could even scoop up big chunks of mushrooms as evidence. It came with a slice of french loaf.

I ordered a very special dish called the Asparagus Stuffed Chicken at only RM 25. The cooked asparagus and mushrooms were beautifully wrapped wtih tender roasted chicken thigh. The gravy is so tasty and not as salty as Amsande. The mashed potatoes was delicious and blended and not in chunks. I also liked the healthy side dish of carrots and broccolis.

We are definitely making a comeback for the incredible food here.
Dad ordered Today's special which was Lamb Loin (RM 45). It came with 4 pieces of lamb atop garlic sauced mashed potato. The lamb was juicy and infused with red wine causing the tasty aftertaste. I would say that this lamb beats the one at Friday's.

I ordered the Fruity Combo juice (RM 8.80) which was a combination of apple, watermelon, pineapple and another fruit which I could not remember. The juice is very sweet and original.

Dad ordered the Lime Juice which was RM 5.50 and just tasted normal.

Dip n Dip Smile Aug 16, 2014

I was hungry but my friend has already had his dinner. So I thought of coming here for light supper.

I ordered a Cinnamon Crepe Pouch (RM 20.50) which I thought will be more filling than the rest. There was a lot of cream inside the thin pouch with bananas. It came with a Dark Chocolate Dip. we felt the cream was a bit too much especially since I am not a big fan of cream. Bananas are also too filling and makes one feel full easily with its amount of carbs.

My friend ordered the Tripple Crepe (RM 17) which came with white and milk chocolate design. The thin crepe was much more delicious than mine.

He ordered the Dip n Dip Caramel Dilatte (RM 18.90) which was amazing. The fusion of caramel and chocolate is a great combo. Again, I preferred his compared to mine which was why he offered me his crepe and I exchanged with him.

I ordered the Dip n Dip Hot Chocolate (RM 15.50) with dark chocolate inside. But I felt there is nothing special. The worst is the pattern on the froth was not beautifully made.

We had a fun time here which I enjoyed a lot.

There is always a crowd in this cafe even though the food are quite pricey. Our late night dessert cost RM 79.09 for two people.

San Nae Deul @ Oasis  Smile Aug 16, 2014

Categories : Korean | Restaurant | BBQ

It was the first time for my parents to come to Oasis. I brought them here after being introduced to this wonderful place by my friend. After searching for a cafe, finally I decided on San Nae Deul which is located above Asa Bistro.

Dad ordered the Seafood Tofu Soup. The portion was too small.

The rice for the bibimbap is white instead of purple like what I had at One Subang. The ingredients were quite tasty. I still prefer the purple rice.

The BBQ thinly sliced pork was so tasty when barbequed. The aroma is so fragrant and tasty. Incredible. I never liked pork but this is the best I have ever eaten. It was tasty to be eaten with raw garlic and also the BBQ sauce.

The side dishes were amazing and most importantly, refillable. My dad finished 2 plates of kimchi and bean sprouts. I especially liked the cold omelette with small pieces of seaweed wrapped inside. So I ordered 2 plates of those. We love the boiled potatoes cooked with kimchi-type of sauce. The french beans were very fresh and one can still feel the crisp and rawness.

We had hot buckwheat tea which was delicious and fragrant.

There was quite a crowd here too. Since the restaurant was located upstairs, we could see the beautiful scenery outside that has a lot of lights. Very good ambience for family and also friends' outings.

Frisky Goat Smile Aug 16, 2014

My UKM AIESECers had a reunion here on 9 August. We even were joined by our friend from Singapore.

By the time I reached there, everyone was there. It was difficult to get a seat here.

My friend ordered the Masala tea which looked very nice.

I ordered the Cappucino (RM 10) which was quite tasty but the pattern on the froth was not made properly.

I also ordered the Frisky Goat Baked Eggs (RM 18.50) which was the star of the bakery cafe. I really loved the runny yolk that was still runny even though it was baked. There were ham, beef bacon, cherry tomatoes and spiced sausages inside, mixed together with runny eggs. I love the eggs which was so tasty and tasted like egg heaven to me. When dipped with Frisky Goat's toast, it was so tasty.

The fried mushrooms were not bad when dipped in some sauce.

I am definitely making a comeback here to try the other dishes  here.

Taiping Ho Chiak Smile Aug 16, 2014   (Related Review)

I wondered why they name this place Taiping when they sell nyonya food. We stumbled upon it together with my colleague at 9 pm. When I found out about this place, it was a Nyonya food heaven. So I had a goal to bring one of my hangout group of colleagues there for a birthday lunch.

We ordered the 4-pax set which came with any 3 dishes chosen from a list. We ordered my favourite sambal baby sotong where the sotong is so tasty. The sauce is not spicy enough but very sweet.

We also had a bowl each of ABC soup. The soup is so sweet and tasty that the boss even gave us 2 bowls each. The carrots were cut into very small circle shapes which made it very appetising.

I love the sambal which is so tasty and original like Penang sambal.

We also ordered Sambal Kangkung which is not too oily and fresh.

We wanted to order the Ayam Ponteh but they ran out of it. So we opted for Kapitan Chicken. My colleague did not like it because it was not cooked the dry style like what people normally do. This was cooked with a lot of gravy like curry the way I like it.

The Jiu Hu Char was quite tasty and sweet enough. We ate it with fresh lettuce. But some of my colleagues said that there was some sand inside this dish.
