Since my friend just came back from offshore, we came here to celebrate the homecoming. I ordered my favourite Asparagus Chicken (RM 24.90) which was tender with the asparagus and ham nicely wrapped inside. The result is succulent and juicy chicken. The mushroom sauce and also mashed potatoes go well together.

I also ordered my favourite original mushroom soup (RM 9.90). I am very particular over mushroom soup and never buy the one from Pizza Hut. This came with a piece of garlic bread.

I ordered the Margarita (RM 18) which was quite tasty, sourish and sweetish. With a little alcohol.

My friend ordered the Chocolate Iced-Blended Drink which came with whipped cream which we both hated. The chocolate was not that great either.

At the end of the meal, I discovered there is a lounge/bar upstairs where one could drink and have a romantic time.

Yokotaya  Smile Nov 08, 2014

I initially wanted to take my Cats' Coffee at Empire Damansara but the jam was so terrible in SS2 that I finally decided to change plans. My U-turn brought me to Yokotaya, at Section 17 which did not fail to disappoint. Many bloggers have talked about this place especially about the signature dish, Nabeyaki Hamburg (RM 35.80 for a set, RM 24.90 for ala-carte) which consists of a pork and beef fused together to become something like the Scottish Haggie. It was served in a big claypot with shitake mushrooms, potatoes, carrots and onions. The sauce is not too salty and goes well with white Japanese rice.

Dad ordered the Sanma Shioyaki which is grilled and came with a lunch set at RM 27.80. The set came together with the best chawanmushi ever, white Japanese rice, miso soup, salad with sesame sauce, 2 pieces of pickled cucumber and also cold fried chicken meat.

My mother saw the tantalising photo of the Surumeika Ikawata (Grilled Giant Squid) and ordered it at RM 29.80. It came served with a special sauce which is so tasty that dad ate the sauce alone after we have finished all the dishes!

Little Star  Smile Nov 06, 2014

Ever since I laid eyes on this place, I couldn't help making a visit here. The ambience is amazing for hanging out with friends. There are cosy private rooms, with starry night shower curtains as the dividers and also cushions on the floor. I was so excited seeing the inviting open concept private rooms. There are also board games and also Jenga to be played. There are non-smoking and smoking zone.

At first, I thought the food at nice trendy places like this are more to the ambience and trend and design rather than focused on the food. But boy was I wrong!

The Deep Fried Abalone Mushrooms (RM 7.90) were amazing especially when sprinkled with chilli powder and also accompanied with a special Thai chilli sauce which is unlike any I have tried before.

The Mongolian Sauce Lamb Steak (RM 20.90) was the best choice I have made. The sauce is a mix of a little spicyness and very unique indeed. The steak is quite ok, and not too springy like rubber, the way other places make it. The best part is it is the most affordable and cheapest steak I have ever eaten.

The Polaris (RM 6.90) iced blended honeydew drink is not bad and it came with laici. I preferred this than the Planet (RM 6.90) bluish iced blended drink which was too blue and looks like there is a lot of colouring inside and had QQ balls inside.

I am definitely coming back to have a party or something like that next time.

The service is very good. The waiters will immediately attend to you the moment they hear the ring of the bell on the table.

Nippy Noodle Restaurant Smile Nov 03, 2014

I was having a fever and felt nauseous. I was clueless what to eat. The doctor told me not to eat anything spicy. Finally I decided on this cafe which sells the most amazing Bamboo Noodles.

My friend ordered the Mixed Pork Bamboo Noodles (RM 10.80). The variety of pork included roasted pork (char siew), roasted pork sausage (siew chee cheong).

I ordered the mushroom bamboo noodles (RM 6.80) which came with 4 big mushrooms. The noodles were served dry, in black sauce.

All the thin bamboo noodles were so smooth and were handmade. It really was tasty and was said to be without preservative or colouring.

We ordered a bowl of the best Sui Kow in the world for RM 8. Each sui kow was filled to the brim with a lot of filling especially crunchy prawns.

Humble Pie Smile Nov 03, 2014

Ever since I heard an interview in BFM about how The Humble Pie was started, I have always wanted to come here and try the food but it seems that every time I make it here, the shop is either closed at night or in the day time.

This time, at 9.30 pm, I made it here but their kitchen was closed.  I could only order the pies in the freezer. I ordered the Mushroom Chicken pie (RM 20) reluctantly because I thought it would be like those we see in the bakeries. When the pie came, I discovered it was totally different as it came in a stew/soup form with a lot of tender chicken drumstick and mushrooms inside. The crust is very thin and not as flaky and fluffy as the ones we normally see.

The Green Apple Lychee Basil (RM 11) was quite tasty and not too sweet like the one at William's in Taman Megah. There is a big range of flavoured teas sold here and this happens to be one of the recommended ones.

The waiter also recommended me to try the Hot Earl Grey Chocolate (RM 10) which turned out to be the best hot chocolate I have ever laid my tongue in. The earl grey infused strongly into the chocolate and the chocolate was very thick.
