Lobak - Penang;s best Smile Jul 01, 2013

Lobak at Ho Ping, Penang Road is a great choice. Its a packed place and full with patrons during dinner and weekends. The lobak here is fried in golden brown, not so oily and served hot, ready to eat. The century egg is nice and served with slice of ginger. I like the mix meat with yam lobak , very tasty and the prawn lobak is very crunchy too. The gravy and its chilly is well suited, add an ommph to the dish.

Fried kam heong lala Smile Jun 22, 2013   (Related Review)

Besides grill fish, they also have fried stuff, and this include my favourite kam heong lala. The clam - lala is fresh and moderate size, give it a just nice to chew, and not overcook.

The taste is sweet, sour, spicy and the aroma gotten into each and every piece of clam in the plate. They use a very high fire temperature to get this dish done, so that the chilli leaf aroma got absorbed in to perfection. Great!

dim sum OK Jul 31, 2013

lol

Have a visit to Gurney Plaza this morning to have dim sum. Lovely place, as Bali Hai did serve dim sum in the morning and seafood at night. There is a lot of variety and amongst are siew mai, prawn taufu roll salad, glutinuous rice "loh mai kai"; har kau (prawn dumpling). The siew mai is tasty but a little small in size. The prawn dumpling is fine with fresh prawn and here, they use stainless steel container instead of the bamboo for steaming.

Grilled Brinjal Smile Jun 22, 2013   (Related Review)

lol

First time eating grilled brinjal and its good. the brinjal is in a piece and garnish with lots of condiments like chopped garlic, chopped chili, spring onion and shrimp. Very appetizing and do not forget a bowl of white rice. East coast BBQ has shared parking place, its more like food stall with a lot of variety in grill, grill vege, grill fish. This sorrounds with other shops selling variety of food and drinks. Not to be missed. ;)

Fried Koay Teow OK Jul 31, 2013
Categories : Chinese | Stall / Warung | Noodles

Fried koay teow in Air Itam is nice. Fried in a high heat wok, its fried with fish cake, bean sprout, eggs and prawns. The ingredients are fresh and the koay teow noodle is not sticky. To get the best taste, I do love to have it a little spicy. The fried koay teow here attracts many visitors and sometimes need to wait during peak hour and on weekend. The serving is not big so could opt to take other dishes too in other stalls.
