Lotus Root Soup Smile May 31, 2013   (Related Review)

My colleague opted for the lotus root soup. It has almost the same ingredients like the pepper pig intestine soup. There was chicken feet and lots of three layer pork meat. There were also slices of lotus root together with peanuts. The soup is well-boiled, and not salty at all. The ingredients were superb, especially when dipped with some soya sauce. Definitely recommended.

I was told by my colleague that Weng Soon Jaya Restaurant serves a really good pepper pig intestine soup. On one of the not-so-hot days, we went there to have some. When we arrived, there was already a long queue waiting. Wow, the soup must be real good to have these sort of business. It is self-service as the people manning the stall will not have time to deliver the food to you. The soup is full of pepper taste, while the pig intestine is tender. There is also a chicken feet, as well as slices of three layer pork. Together with a bowl of rice, the meal very filling, only RM5 for both the rice and soup.

Steamed Fish Smile May 31, 2013   (Related Review)

We had a hankering for some fish, hence we decided to order the steamed fish to share. The steamed fish was quite nice, no smelly fishy smell at all. It is steamed with some soya sauce and sliced garlic. Topped with some gau choy and sliced tomatoes, the taste is really light. The fish is flaky and juicy. Complemented with a bowl of rice, it is definitely a satisfying meal.

Organic Fried Vegetables Smile May 31, 2013

My aunt and I were in Kepong visiting some relatives, and we decided to drop into Red Yeast Restaurant in Bukit Seri Bintang for lunch. The restaurant is famous for its organic vegetables, hence we opted to have fried yau mak with garlic. The vegetable was definitely very fresh, and well fried. It was crunchy and definitely very palatable. Fried with minimum oil and some garlic, the dish is very light and appetising.

Stir Fried Beef Rice OK May 31, 2013   (Related Review)

It was late after another session in the gym, and most of the restaurants are closing except Kung-Fu paradise. And so I went there for a late dinner. I ordered the stir fried beef rice. It comes with slices of stir fried beef, a stalk of siew pak choi and half of a hard boiled ‘lava’ egg. The lava egg was written on their menu which probably meant the ramen type of egg. The egg is supposed to be hard boiled on the outside and slightly runny yolk on the inside. However, when the dish was served, I find that the egg was overcooked which has no difference from a regular hardboiled egg. The stir fried beef was delicious, and when eaten with their white rice, it’s not too bad. The egg is a good addition and the vegetables ensure a balanced healthy meal. A bit pricey for RM14,90, but it is expected.
