Pork Chop Fried Rice Smile Jul 13, 2012   (Related Review)

Din Tai Fung's Pork Chop Fried Rice came with this delicious slab of pork chop on top of their famous fried rice. Now it is interesting to note their fried rice isn't like the usual wok burnt fried rice, but the flavour was there. The egg fried rice was actually cooked using two cups of Japanese rice and two eggs, hence the nice flavour to it. If you want something worth money spend, this can be one of your choice.

Frontera Fries – RM6

Frontera do serves some nice side dishes like fries. I really appreciate the fries with is thick and crispy skin. It is actually made from fresh cut potatoes. Spicy chilli powder is added to flavour the fries. The fries are nice to eat with Frontera Tacos. You will definitely can not stop your hand from tucking down this fries especially if it is served hot. As a Mexican restaurant, I can proudly say that well done on the Frontera Fries.

Grilled Sirloin Steak - RM26.50

Herbs & Spices served my favourite steak as well, the Grilled Sirloin Steak which was prepared in the traditional way. I do love my steaks, and I'm glad to say the ones here were really succulent and nice, medium done, seared on the outside and juicy inside. As you cut the meat, you can still see the red juice spill over. All that good meat for only RM26.50, I won't mind going back again soon just for the sirloin steak.

Curry Fish Head (Seasonal based on weight)

Yet another specialty dish from Herbs & Spices was their Curry Fish Head which was seasonally priced, The owner did mentioned they used New Zealand Ling fish head as their main ingredients which came in this really thick curry gravy. Personally I liked the curry a lot, as it was thick and full of flavour. It served well with plain rice or roti canai. It was being served together with some lady fingers, brinjal, long bean and tomato. The fish is fresh without the fishy smell or taste.

Sago Melaka - RM4

After the rather heavy meal, we ended the session with some sweet desserts, namely the Cream Caramel and the Sago Melaka. The really special Sago Melaka was brought out comprising of sago with gula melaka and coconut milk. The presentation of the dessert really open my appetite. After taking the first spoon pearl sago which mix well with the gula melaka and coconut milk, automatically you will want for another scoop. The sweetness of the gula melaka is so original and thick. It was that good that I cant find other shop so far to beat this shop on sago melaka dessert.
