Sam Kan Chong Sunway Pyramid OK Sep 11, 2013

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

This round, I ordered the 3JC (Lo Shi Fun), which was basically these "mouse tail" noodles in hot sweet soy sauce. Served with pork meat, it tasted good, with lots of peppery flavour. I did like this dish, as it wasn't too wet nor dry, just nice to slurp it down the throat for a good meal.

My colleague ordered the pork porridge, which went well with Sam Kan Chong's special chilli sauce. Yes, it may sound weird putting chilli sauce into a bowl of porridge, but surprisingly it blended well, lending lots of flavour to the otherwise normal bowl of porridge.

Pork Belly with Salted Fish OK Sep 11, 2013

It wasn't my first time to Restoran Leong Ya Indah. Their signature dish would be the paper wrapped chicken which I have written on previously. This time around we tried their other famous dish, namely the Pork Belly with Salted Fish.

When the dish arrived, I could smell the fragrant salted fish and meat which whetted my appetite. The dish itself was great, being spicy, savoury, not too oily, and really tasty. Highly recommended to order this dish the next time you drop by this restaurant.

Sunrise Duck Rice OK Sep 11, 2013

I was introduced to this restaurant by a fellow blogger, stating the main dish were the duck rice. We ordered half a duck to share, and it did not disappoint. The dish came out hot, with lots of duck meat in between. I like the fact that the duck skin was of the crispy nature, which went well and reminded me of Peking duck.

There were a lot of meat on the duck rice, enough to satisfy even the biggest eater. No complaints on the taste, as it had the savoury taste you would expect from a nice roasted duck dish. Dipped in the sweet sauce, we could not get enough of this.

Maison Francaise  OK Sep 11, 2013

It was my first time dining over at this quaint French restaurant which has a very nice ambiance. One of the dishes prepared for us were the raw beef slice or "beef tartare" as I was told. It was essentially a raw beef dish, sliced thinly served with cheese and accompanying sauces.

The taste was pretty good, as it was raw anyway, a sweet tangy taste. The spices spinkled on it brought out the flavour, and went really well with cheese and the sauces.

Daily Kopitiam OK Sep 11, 2013

The singaporean mee hoon was pretty tasty, sweet with a tinge of tomato flavour. There wasn't enough meat inside though, with pieces of chicken bits and lots of vegetables.

I did like the nasi lemak, as it came with a huge chunk of chicken thigh, lots of ikan bilis and kacang. The sambal was spicy enough, and went well with the fragrant rice. Do try this hot dish out if you're dining here.
