Deep Fried Pandan Sesame Balls

Deep Fried Pandan Sesame Balls

We waited for more than 20 minutes for this and when it came, it was cold. It was beyond me, what took them so long to figure what we wanted and sent it to us while it was smoking hot? We were intrigued by the fact that they use black sesame and pandan in making their sesame bun. No doubt it smelled of sesame goodness, however the outer layer was too chewy, hence the lack of enjoyment. The filling was alright.

Hong Kong Fried Noodle

Hong Kong Fried Noodle

It was considered my first time trying hong kong fried noodle. It sounded quite exciting no? In fact the flavor and aroma proved it was! The noodle was flavorful and springy, just how I like my noodle to be. In another words, the texture should be al dente. However this wasn't too tough. It resembled kon lou mian, a little chewy. You could even feel the wok hei! Very delightful dish I would say.

Mee Rebus

Mee Rebus

I am a big time noodle fan. However when it comes to Malay noodle, I have reservations. Take this mee rebus for example, it is not my kind of thing. I found it too sweet for a supposedly savoury noodle. The noodle was smooth and slurpilicious but the gravy wasn't my thing, at all. Boyfriend said it was good though.

Tau Fu Fa Konon-kononnya Cry Jul 31, 2012

Tau Fu Fa

Tau Fu Fa

First thing first, if it is not tau fu fa, please do not name it tau fu fa. I was craving for desserts, especially tau fu fa. When I saw the menu stated tau fu fa, I ordered one for myself. I asked for brown sugar but they told me "No sugar". I was like "Okay, that's weird" and when it came I was like WHAT?!

It was pudding, why can't you just name it pudding? It was bland, nearly tasteless and the texture was just normal. What was there to say about?

Congee with shredded chicken and century egg

Congee with shredded chicken and century egg

To be frank, I was expecting the congee to be nice, in terms of aroma, flavour and texture. Well, after I tried, I would say it "Meh, you can just omit that when you visit Celestial Court." The congee was watery and I presume it was low quality rice judging by the floating rice. The flavor was relatively mild, which might be intentional but I felt it was not what I would expect from Celestial Court. The aroma was decent. Overall, it is just there for the sake of being there for the common crowds.
