I like pumpkin on its own or savory. Both are fine for me. It was my first time having pumpkin as dessert though. The purée was not as dense, slightly watery but not the red bean tong sui type of watery. Tasted slightly sweet but it was very very mild. The texture was very close to mango purée but loaded with more fibre. continue reading

I heard from a friend that Celestial Court had extended their dim sum menu with some new items, so naturally I had to try them (though I didn't manage to order all of it).The crystal vegetable dumpling was not my thing - pretty much some juicy, peppery vegetables and mushroom inside a translucent starchy shell. Actually the vegetables were very nice - I just wasn't in a mood for vegetables. The beef balls were very smooth and softly chewy, but its sauce was a pinch too salty for me. Otherwise, very good.I wasn't a big fan of the yam puff with scallop - it was quite tasteless on its own; and if I when I added sweet sauce, it just masked all flavour from the scallop. Boo!The spicy crabmeat thingie was very good, though. I was pleased to discover it's real fresh, juicy crabmeat. continue reading

Celestial Court offers world class dimsum, that's my humble point of view. But I guess whoever has tried their dimsum will agree with me, anytime. Two of us ordered quite a bit, all of which are very yummy! My all-time favourite would be the dried scallops prawn dumplings (瑶柱鲜虾饺). The prawn is huge and crunchy, with chopped parsley and dried scallops, the overall flavour of the dumpling is hugely enhanced. Thumbs up! And don't you think it looks pretty too! The sharkfin soup dumpling (竹笙鲍鱼灌汤饺) is a luxury to eat. The filling of the dumpling is so much and the amount of sharkfin is really generous. Not to forget how sweet the soup is too. Stuffed tofu, eggplant, chilli etc (煎酿四宝) is nice too, with the flavourful sauce that has dried shrimps .. yummy. One of my favourite would be the cod fish prawn roll (鳕鱼明虾筒) . I never had this dish elsewhere before. It's amazing how well the banana matches both the cod fish and prawn! Eat with the wasabi mayonnaise, awesome! As for desserts, we had the very refreshing coconut pudding (椰汁布丁). Mango sago with pamelo (杨枝金露) is so rich in mango flavour, very satisfying! The pumpkin puree (金瓜芋泥) is the signature dessert of the restaurant. It's a must try! Thumbs up! continue reading
