Mad about afro Smile Oct 25, 2015

Categories : Western variety | Café | Desserts

The first thing that make me wanna go into the shop is because of the logo. Very cute (the afro i mean, how creative). I thought that this is some barber shop for the afros yuk
I was looking for a place to kill some time, waiting for my friend to arrive. So i pick this mad about coco.

Well first you need to order at the counter. I was not that hungry so i go for their churros and a hot milk chocolate with marshmallow. I feel like it is a little bit expensive. The small churros cost you for RM16 and the hot choc with marshmallow cost you for RM15 ( i can get something really good with these price).

Oh well, its worth to give it a shot. the decorations of the shop is very cute. The mixture of the colours makes me feel relaxed. Well now, lets talk about the churos, yes it does look good but the taste is slightly dissapointing for the churos itself. Its just too oily for me. But they covered it good with the chocolate dip (which is very little) that taste absolute chocolate.

You really need to order plain water as well just incase it was too sweet with the marshmallow and the hot chocolate all together. Well i like how they presented the food. Very simple yet creative. How did they make the afro and the sunglasses? i am quite interested to learn this kind of things lol Maybe one day i should take classes for this (maybe).

However, they will not be able to compete with salon du chocolate because their chocolate is more exclusive (in my opinion) than mad about coco. But the menu is definitely different. No harm trying tho.

Overall: The environment makes you feel relax, fullhouse on weekends, try all the chocolates you can

Naan Choc Cheese at Barra Smile Oct 25, 2015
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Malay | Restaurant

Barra restaurant is located near Jakel and UiTM Shah Alam. I went there to see a friend of mine and we hangout here at Barra due to limited budget mad But hey,the food here is definitely a lot per portion and cheap.

They are just like any other mamak restaurant as they offered the same typical menu. However the one that caught my attention is the Naan Choc cheese.Usually some other "mamak" will only serve you naan cheese, but this is definitely something different. They also have milo naan cheese as what i remembered love

So i ordered the naan choc cheese that cost RM6.00 and a friend of mine just ordered chicken friend rice RM7. I can tell you this, their fried can really share for 2 person as they really serve you a mountain of rice per portion, tho the chicken is just a bit smaller.

Well once my Naan Choc Cheese has arrived the first thing that i noticed is the smell of it. I can really smell the chocolate and the cheese mixed together. Its very mouth watering when i started to pull the cheese to taste. It was delicious! i ordered another one to take-away lolThe fried rice taste was okay and the chicken is not too oily but it is worth it as it serve you a very big portion.

As it comes to dinner, more people starting to show up and usually the restaurant will be fullhouse because of the students live nearby. Oh! if you would like to order things like fried rice or this naan choc cheese, they will only start to take order at 4.00 p.m and above. From morning to 4.00 p.m they will only have "nasi campur" .

I wish to come again here one day, my house is just too far. I will usually go to the shop near maju junction there for the best naan cheese in Klang Valley. But this is totally different. Naan choc cheese really hard to find somewhere else other than this restaurant. Its gonna be worth it for you to go all the way to Shah Alam for food hunting (there are a lot other places to try out around barra.

Overall: the first time i tried naan choc cheese, fullhouse for dinner

Come early before 5.00p.m

Categories : Malay | Western variety | Restaurant | Nasi Lemak

And again! who can say no to free food whereby my bos would like to treat me. Hehe. One of my lucky day is that i was able to try this Serai as i have never had the time to go here because of the traffic and the parking difficulty unless you have your boss to tell you that your lunch time is 2 hours.  lol

My first impression to this restaurant is that it must be expensive because of the interior is very exclusive and spacious. But then the price only ranging from RM15 - RM40. I think it is quite reasonable, don't you think? (but don't come here everyday unless you want to go broke  lol

So i tried this nasi ambeng and the pavlova. My boss tried the the wantan mee if i'm not mistaken. So the Nasi Ambeng is a lot for me. Sadly, i could not finished tho its delicious (9/10 for this dish). The wantan me is just 50-50. Just an OK taste. Well, lets move on to pavlova. They will not be able to compete with Alexis as it is a bit too creamy for me but the texture and all is good. Also, a plus for the service! as we got our dish in less than 10 minutes!

From what i have noticed, the crowd was mostly the office people as it is located at the heart of Kuala Lumpur. It was fullhouse, definitely a favorite to this people.

Overall: Fullhouse on weekdays during lunch hour, try asean food

My 1000++ visit to food foundry!  Smile Oct 21, 2015
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Western variety | Café | Steaks / Chops | Sweets/Snack

Food foundry was actually the shop that introduced me to this crepe cake. This shop located at Jalan Happy Mansion and it was around flat area, the least expected place to search for some hipster cafe. When food foundry starting to build up its name, i can see that more hipster cafe were open from time to time at jalan happy mansion.

The first time i was here, they only selling their crepe cakes and the flavors changes overtime. My most fav flovor was the blueberry and vanilla. But now, there are too many flavors to choose from! From small cake shop to a big cafe and very well known! i am so proud to have eaten the cake when the shop was only have 10 seats back then.

Enough said, as they have expanded, i would like to try some dishes that they are having here. Well, i tried the salmon carbonara that cost less than RM20 and of course the crepe cake but this time i tried salted caramel and of course i ordered my favorite blueberry ( RM10 - RM15)

Well, the salted caramel is actually intrend now the reason for me to try and my friend is accompanying me for my craving  tongue .  The tasted was actually really good. Definitely a new favorite. As for the salmon carbonara, i would really like to give 12/10 as the taste doen't get bored. the salmon is a bit salty but in combined, the taste is delicious.

This cafe has never disapoint me since the first time i came in year 2010/2012 if i am not mistaken. So there goes my most favorite crepe cake shop that has turned into a cafe.

Overal: The best crepe cake ever! , western food was good
Supplementary Information:
Definitely a growing cafe

Alexis birthday dinner! Smile Oct 21, 2015

Categories : Western variety | Bar & Pub | Pizza/Pasta | Steaks / Chops

Well it was my dad's birthday that day. So we don't really want to go somewhere far for a fine dining experience. Me and my family decided to bring my dad to Alexis. I think it is a perfect place to celebrate a birthday!

So as always, i will order the western dishes here because they are superb delicious. I ordered sirlion steak. It does look small but trust me, it will fill up your dinner plus supper lol. Then my mom ordered her normal spaghetti bolognese and as for my dad, he ordered Nasi Kerabu, he wants some asean taste for his birthday.

Spaghetti well of course it doesn't taste anything special just some plain spaghetti. For sirlion steak, it is very tender and can you believe me i was very full once i finished it all? haha. Then as for Nasi Kerabu, my dad said the rice is not as what he expected and the kari is definitely a no. But overall everything else was good.

Well, the most important mission is to have our most favorite pavlova! We ordered 2 by the way as my dad would like to have one all for himself (you can't just reject birthday boy wishes right? ). So yes, i admit, the pavlova is not too creamy or too soft or too hard. It was just nice. Definitely worth it for something less than RM15.
The best pavlova in town

The best pavlova in town

The total bill was around RM100 plus if i am not mistaken. The most expensive one is the sirlion steak that cost around RM28. Nasi Kerabu is just less than RM20 so as the spaghetti.
As for drinks, we just ordered ice lemon tea that cost around RM10.

While enjoying your dinner with some entertainment (live band), definitely worth it for someone's special night. Well dad, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! May your wishes come true.

Overall: nice environment with live band, western food, the best pavlova
