Coincidentally my boss is from Penang so his favourite food will no doubt be the kind that reminds him of home. Then luckily enough there's a place rather near our office that specializes in that so it comes as no surprise that he would go there for lunch rather often. The only thing I really like to order there is the Penang Loh Mee. The soup is super thick & flavourful, plus there's a nice kick from the grated garlic which you mix in. It's completely different from the regular loh mee we get at our local restaurants but it's also good. Even better if you ask for extra fried shallots to add with your noodles. Then the Prawn Noodles are pretty good too, or at least that is what my boss says. To me it's only mediocre because I had better ones in Ampang.

Another thing that I really like is their lobak and rojak. But we didn't order those that day because it would be way too greedy of us. Though we always order either one when we do have lunch there with our other colleagues. 

Long weekends are a major blessing to me. Not only does it mean more time for me to rest & be a complete sloth, but also more chance to eat food that we normally have no chance to eat cause of time issue. This time mother wanted to go back to Bentong for our favourite getaway restaurant. With no hesitation we ordered their stir-fried pig intestine's with dried shrimp, garlic and chillies. This was as good as I last remembered it to be as the intestines were nicely crunchy and mixed with the saltiness of the extra bits plus chillies makes it even yummier. I kind of wished that we had ordered two plates instead of one. And this was my mother's favourite which was poached kampung chicken. It was pretty good though considering that poultry is not my first choice of meat to eat, I was not too interested in this. However the ginger, scallion, garlic and oil mix that is meant to be eaten with the chicken was what I had more of. We also ordered a simple steamed fish in soya sauce that came with ginger slices and fried garlic bits. However I kind of forgotten what kind of fish it was only that the meat was super tender & juicy because all their produce is as fresh as can be. Not surprising since we were practically sitting right next to a farm where there are actual animals. As an added treat we got these fried prawns that were crunchy and salty too because of the batter they were tossed in. At least that's what I presume the flavours were from since there isn't a sauce or anything like that. These were my favourite cause the shells are super crispy which means no peeling required. Just pop them in your mouth and chew it all up.

Definitely worth the drive up here just for their food. Though be warned that over the weekends and any time later than 12pm, there is a crazy amount of people. All with the same idea too. So come early!

A good friend recently got a job at Tujo and happily invited us girls there for dinner. that night I was just happy to be out of the house since it was the first day of the long weekend.

So all dressed up that's where we headed to and was mildly surprised by the interior - slightly mismatched but fun which I assume is their goal as it matches their 'fun' motto. However it wasn't really my taste especially the blinking coloured lights that were right above my table, giving me quite the headache. Upon recommendation I tried the beef bourguignon and was pleasantly surprised. I've tried this dish at other restaurants & was disappointed as it was mainly too sweet, then I have even attempted to cook it myself too but still could not get the flavour that I was hoping for. Tujo however have achieved that perfect balance where the stew was not overly sweet nor too salty. 

Although most of the beef were really tender, there were still a few pieces which were slightly on the drier side which I ignored. Also there are some rather fatty bits as well, but I presume that is also needed to give extra depth of flavour to the stew.

My dish came with a side of garlic bread which were quite bad honestly. It was not toasted well enough and to me seemed rather stale - as if it was store bought then sat at a counter all day. That I think was the only let down of this dish.

Can't wait to be back to have this again!

With some free time over the weekend, mother decided to take a drive up to Semenyih for our favourite salt-fried chicken wings. It's kind of crazy to think that we'd go so far just to have some good food in between spending some quality time with family. But often times we do for adventures sake. THESE FRIED CHICKEN WINGS WERE THE BOMB. Crispy on the outside and super flavourful from the seasonings that were tossed over them after they come out of the fryer. Then, they also toss in lots of garlic, chopped chillies and spring onion. I can eat so many of these in one go.And because this is my favourite, we also ordered a yam basked with pork meat. The yam was really yummy but I didn't really care too much about the filling cause it was too sweet for me. Though everyone else really liked it. We also ordered a steamed fsh with simple soya sauce & some sliced ginger. The fish was fresh so there was no mushy bits of meat and the sauce that it came with was good too. However there really isn't much to shout about.

If you are in the area then definitely pay this restaurant a visit if not just for the chicken. Trust me, you won't regret it 

Cava comes highly recommended by my best friend after dining there few times before. Her favourite apparently is their fruit sangria and it has also now become mine even if I am never a fan of anything alcoholic.

So naturally for our girl's date night that was where we went to for dinner and it was the best choice we made. The ambience there is rather romantic but also nothing overly fancy which to me is perfect. Although the restaurant is rather small.For starters, we ordered the seafood soup to share and I was so amazed by what we were served. First was the amount of seafood that came with the soup, there were clams, mussels, squids, a scallop and also a big prawn. It was really good as the tomato-based broth was infused with all the flavours from all the shellfish and also squid.

We would have ordered another bowl if we were stupidly greedy.Then because this is my absolute favourite to order, we also got the clams cooked with white wine, garlic and chillies to share too. As if the earlier amount of seafood was not enough. This was heavenly to me and the broth that the clams were cooked in were intensely flavourful. We finished this within a blink of an eye and now, I am craving for it again.And for main, we got the braised beef shoulder with spinach pasta to share because we were already quite full from the earlier starters. This was AMAZING becauset he beef so super tender till it was practically falling off the bone and the sauce it came with was delicious. The pasta was perfectly al dente and everything was amazing.

Now I think it's going to be usual place to go for good dinner.
