Get a chauffeur, call for Uber or come on a weekend to have a taste of Bandits’ coffee.
Bandits Coffee Bar is an addition to the already plentiful cafes in the Klang Valley but for good reasons. Upon arrival, expect to be greeted by an affectionate bunch as you make your way pass a quirky sliding door. You wouldn’t go wrong with any of their espresso and milk combination retailing at bona fide 10 ringgit a cup. Bandits also offer an array of filling pastries and we can only hope for the best where no arthropod has landed on them since they are left in the open.
Every time I pay BCB a visit, I cannot help myself to but to have more coffee than usual as they are properly crafted. For the hours I’ve spent at Bandits, I noticed that the crowd that this café pull are those of ‘busy’ white-collared employees and lonely people who occupy single seats staring soullessly out of the premise. Nevertheless, what matters is good coffee and a welcoming business owner who is a natural at public displayed affection.
The Snob believes to have found a proper coffee house.

LOKL of Kuala Lumpur OK Apr 14, 2015

LOKL cafe is a sanctuary or shall I say a hidden gem that requires effort to get to. The Snob likes this kind of things be it sport cars, timepiece and models takes considerable patience on top of perseverance.
There's this saying 'getting there is half the fun' and LOKL most certainly promises that because I have gone through the narrowest parking lots, lawless back alleys and a gallon of sweat upon arrival.
Take the door on the left and you'll finally find the heart of this maze. I was quickly shown a table where orders were made and brought coffee by an unhappy woman like a man. I nevertheless thanked her for her subhuman friendliness as LOKL serves pretty good coffee.
All in all, LOKL is great at creating awareness and just as good at keeping healthy public relations but that's pretty much where the good stops. Their coffee vending at 12 ringgit simply isn't worth the inconvenience involved getting to LOKL.
The Snob was then off being an activist along Jalan Tun Perak.

Otherwise Cafe

Otherwise Cafe

Otherwise café evokes warmth opposing to eeriness according to an opinionated bunch with its antique decoration and studio/salon by its side. It could be due to my visit that was in the afternoon. I made my order as soon as I walked through their doors. Tiramisu in a glass to go with a cup of cappuccino and flat white where all are stickered at 11 ringgit each. There may only be one person on duty but I was served with great patience and hospitality (I’m looking at you BAC).
I was quite immersed into what Otherwise have got on display accompanied with Rachel Yamagata’s Sunday Afternoon being piped through a modified pre-World War radio.
The Cap was first to arrive followed by the flat white then the cake. I am pleased to report that their coffee is of substance where the barista definitely knows her stuff. Their coffee is served with double shots on default but the espresso never overpowers the Farmhouse milk. All in all, both the cups were well balanced and properly structured throughout. If I had to choose, it’d be the cappuccino. Despite that, their cakes aren’t quite the case for being fairly plebeian but all is forgiven with the coffee they serve.
Otherwise café grips me by their coffee while
their hospitality made me stay.

Ambience:
Upon arrival, I would have no second guesses that Battery Acid Club is an ISIS hideout for its sign and seclusion. I gazed into one of Geneva's finest signifying the time being a little past 10 am. As I walked into this clinical-designed cafe which reminded me a little of my visit to the dentist, I was greeted by a man who was mopping the floor with Arabic words uttered over the front of his Tee shirt which further hints the organisation. He promised that I will be served in twenty minutes despite the door stating operating hours are from 9 to 9 on Saturdays. Not fearing the propaganda and believing in good things are worth the wait, I sat myself down not knowing how sour the afternoon was going to turn. The clock struck 11 where two other tables was filled where I learnt that the first come, first served basis is not valid at BAC. Hence I got up and lined behind an obese couple to make my order. I ordered some gula Melaka tart (at 6 ringgit) which was claimed to be made in-house, the usual flat white and took the advice of the barista himself who deems the latte macchiato (both at 11 ringgit) to be his best creation.

Coffee + Food:
I helped myself with a glass of water while making my way back to where I was sitting. It got me thinking that if one were to spend more than average interior design and magazine collection couldn't they should uniform the team with Tees that has ISIS-inspired logo printed on them. As it was taking quite a while, I flipped an interesting magazine called Monocle which includes travelling write ups and lightly on designs before the tart arrived which was rather positive for not being overly sugary.
As soon as I was half way through my pastry I was surprised by Battery Acid Club's further reminder of the Islamic State on their serving plates. Well I'm not biased towards any deluded political view because what's matters most is coffee. Frankly the blend of espresso and Pura milk at BAC isn't too shabby nevertheless could be better. The initial sip of the flat white was pleasing but worsens as the cup nears empty leaving me muddled. It must be said the latte macchiato is creative which is pretty much one dimensional throughout the entire cup."Design as it is and conversation being their USP seems to be cynical
since the team is not a talkative bunch."

Friendliness:
The male barista is a self-absorbed off-the-books narcissist who is plagued with obsessive compulsive disorder. This socially inert washed-up designer who's going through some made up crisis has no respect for those who are younger or age better than he does. Heads up, please read their magazines very carefully as flipping in an 'incorrect' manner may very much upset the owners. Battery Acid Club might would do a lot better being a closed community designers-only slum.
Bottom line:
BAC is no more than an overly though-out cafe fad where form follows function serving coffee that fails to impress.
