When I was searching for a good food at Desa Sri Hartamas, I came across this particular cafe that has a very good review. After my dessert at Honey Crème, I went to Mei By Fat Spoon for lunch. The cafe is located at the corner lot of the building and they don’t have a big signboard to guide to the cafe therefore have a close look at the glass door as they stick their menu on the walls and that’s how I find this cafe during my visit. They serve appetizers, pasta, rice dishes, side dishes and beverages. The ambiance of the cafe was cozy and I enjoy having my foods under the sunshine instead of facing the walls. A couple of people occupied the cafe when we arrived but it started filling up around 12.30pm for lunch. I ordered Ox Tongue Rice (Mirin Sauce), Small Lemongrass Chicken Pop and Peach White Tea Pot after struggling on what to choose from the menu.

Peach White Tea Pot was food and good to have with their foods.

Peach White Tea Pot @ RM 8.49

Ox Tongue Rice (Mirin Sauce) tasted as good as it looks. They have 2 types of sauce to for this dish, Soy Sauce and Mirin Sauce. I asked the staff for recommendation and his recommendation was Mirin Sauce so I just choose that. It was flavoursome and every spoon has a generous amount of meat in it. I really enjoyed it.

Ox Tongue Rice (Mirin Sauce) @ RM 21.70

Fried Chicken is served with mayonnaise and lemon. Squeeze the lemon over the chicken and eat them together with the rice. It was simply delicious. My sister loved the salad and to my surprise she even finished her whole plate of salad “I almost wanted to faint the moment I saw it”

Small Lemongrass Chicken Pop @ RM 16.98

For me, Miso Soup is like a mix of Miso Soup and ABC that goes perfectly well instead of normal seaweed Miso Soup. They have done some weird combination that actually works. Very comforting soup. Each dish is served with a bowl of soup.

It was a perfect lunch for us. Delicious food and friendly service but be prepared to spend RM 20-RM 30 per person during your visit but the food deserves it for me. Wonderful Japanese meal after such a long time.

According to my friend, Uncle Testu Cheesecake is famous for their Cheesecake in Town. Therefore I planned to give them a try but the waiting time turns me off. When Openrice invited me for the food testing at Uncle Testu Cheesecake, IOI City Mall, I was so pleased to accept it. I called them 2 days in advance to make a reservation at 8pm and I am very happy that I reached at time but I went to IOI Mall Puchong instead of IOI City Mall, Putrajaya. Yeah!! I went to the wrong location so I called them to let them know I will be late and he is very understanding. We reached IOI City Mall, Putrajaya around 9pm. Uncle Testu Cheesecake is located Lowerground, IOI City Mall. The bakery was very busy with people taking away after their dinner. They have staff standing outside the bakery to give sample to the people and almost everyone who tried it buys the cake. Yeah! It was super delicious. They have a “Scratch & Win” competition for the customer in the bag. Once scratch there will be a cash voucher for the customer to redeem it in the next purchase and promotion is valid until end of January 2016. According to Mr.Fai most of the customer redeems it straight away after they scratch it.

Cheesestick are made from the Hat Series Cake. It’s crunchy and cooked perfectly.

They have 3 types of Hat Series Cake. Original, Chocolate and Strawberry. It tasted like an Ice-Cream cake with rich strawberry flavour. In my opinion, it is best eaten cold.

Original Cheesecake was light, fluffy and simply delicious. I finished half of the cake at a time once I opened the box and my sister has to stop me from overeating. It is simply addictive.

Chocolate Cheesecake was fantastic. So fluffy and full of chocolate flavour. It is my mum’s favourite. She loved having them while watching TV.

Good news!! They don’t limit their customer to certain number of cakes they can buy like 1utama. You can buy as many as you want. It is best to satisfy all those with a sweet tooth.

The Humble Pie Co @ Section 17 Smile Dec 16, 2015

Categories : Western variety | Café | Sweets/Snack

As far as I know, The Humble Pie is popular for their desserts until recently my friend told me their foods are delicious as well. So when I know, they have a special promotion from off-peak 50% for 4days, I quickly asked my sister to make a booking to dine-in. The Humble Pie is located same row with Kanna Curry House. I guess most of you surely know the location of this place as it is one of the popular place for Banana Leaf in Section 17. The cafe serves pie, pasta, main course, desserts and beverages. It was almost full house when we arrived and even filling up after that. The ambiance of the cafe was simple and comfortable. They have both indoor and outdoor seating areas. I ordered Shepherd's Pie, Spicy Prawn Olio Pesto and Musang King Pie. Spicy Prawn Olio Pesto is a weird combination, but that was a match made in heaven. Flavour from Pesto contract well with the spiciness from Chili Padi. For the spicy level, my sister chooses level 3 and I guess it is eatable for human, but if you are a daring person give a try to level 5 or more.

Spicy Prawn Olio Pesto @ RM 26

Shepherd's Pie is simple but delicious.

Shepherd's Pie @ RM 22

Musang King Pie is a beautiful pastry. A crunchy layer of biscuit with durian pulp and cream. It was so rich in durian flavour and I just loved it.

Musang King Pie @ RM 15

It was a delicious lunch for us and good de-stress hangout place with my sister. Friendly service and delicious food. Sure, drop again to try their pasta. Just one drawback is very difficult to find car parking in that area, especially during lunch hours and double parking is very common.

What you guys like to have during rainy days? A bowl of hot soup
that would warm up my body and soul is my favourite. Therefore, I suggested to
my sister and boyfriend to go Tzuk Sheng Lao’s for dinner. Tzuk Sheng Lao’s is
located further down from Curry Leaf, Damansara Utama. The restaurant serves
noodle & rice dishes, vegetable, meats and beverages. A couple of people
occupied the restaurant when we arrived at 8pm. The ambiance of the restaurant
was simple and comfortable. Since it is our first time to the restaurant, the
staff recommended their signature dishes to us. I ordered their signature dish
sweet & spicy pork bamboo noodle, while my sister and my boyfriend ordered
Soup bamboo noodle (Small) and Dry Bamboo Noodle (Big).

You can see the difference between small and big size of bamboo noodle from the photo.

Bamboo Noodle Dry (Big) @ RM 11

Flavourful soup and springy & soft noodle goes well to create a magical combination. Simple and Yummy!! 6 generous pieces of wanton in each bowl, meaty and delicious. You can choose either soup or dry version of Bamboo noodle.

Bamboo Noodle Soup (Small) @ RM 9

Springy and soft texture of bamboo noodle combines perfectly well with the tender cubes of mild spicy pork. Thanks for the recommendation.

Sweet & Spicy Pork Bamboo Noodle @ RM 9.40

We ordered an ala-Cate wanton (6 pieces) after trying the delicious wanton in the noodle. If you are small eater, this is more than enough to make you full.

Wanton @ RM 5.90

Overall, it was a delicious meal for us. Friendly and fast
service. Sure, drop by again for their bamboo noodle and wanton. It is one of
the best Bamboo noodles I ever tried and it is my sister's favourite place for
wanton.
