Leonardo's is a hidden gem in Bangsar, located at a little row of shops by Jalan Bangkung at Bukit Bandaraya. From the name of the restaurant, you would have expect that it serves Italian cuisine. But the truth is, they serve fusion dishes from bak kut teh, hokkien mee to pizza, pork ribs and knuckles. Their theme is centralized around pork. If you are looking for a piggilicious feast, Leonardo's is the best choice.

We started our night with crispy bacon lollipop, which is not included in their home menu.

It was a cute dish, with deep fried breaded pork ball on sticks served in a glass of sea-salt. The balls had cheese and pork in it, with a special dip sauce, made it a sinful starter for us.

Here comes the main:

Mama mia pizza, a thin crust pizza topped with jamon serrano (dry-cured Spanish ham), mozzarella and rocket. It's a special, healthy yet delicious pizza, but be prepared with the taste of rocket as I can't accept the "fragrance" when I first tasted it. smile

Hawaiian Pineapple BBQ Pork Ribs, a generous portion of juicy pork ribs in homemade pineapple sauce, served with roasted potato and corn salsa. I can't really taste the pineapple as it's too mild, or I was confused with the name, Hawaiian Pineapple means the pineapple on top, not the gravy??

Fettuccine Carbonara, a simple yet delicious pasta. It's definitely one of the creamiest pasta that I had so far. Pasta lovers, don't miss it out!!

From the starter to the mains, you could see how porky is this pork specialized restaurant. It was a very satisfying dinner, ended with a sinful sweetness, Dark Chocolate and Walnut Brownie. I will give it another visit real soon, with more porky feast!! lol

A good start with Bagel OK Aug 24, 2012

I went to Plaza Damas a month ago to attend my interview. There were only limited choices in the early morning and so I decided to have a bagel with a cup of coffee. It's a great breakfast, overall, though the bacon is a bit overcooked and I can't even bite. The beef patty is well marinated and very tender. They provide several types of bagel for your choice. It's a great start for the morning and of course, my interview trip. But the coffee, I think it's better to get your cup from the Starbucks next door. smile

Among the yam rice stalls, this stall is certainly one of the best!!! After so many years, the quality of the food still remains the same. I like their the sourish salted vegetable pork soup because it is still as appetizing as it had been. And not forget their yam rice, still serves with chunks of soft and fragrant yam, and you may get a BIG one if you're lucky (or maybe handsome smile ). But anyway, I prefer my soup with only lean meat, pork belly and pork ball, without ANY pig OFFAL. I always order my yam rice with extra pork balls, to satisfy my pork balls fancy~ For those offal lovers, you will definitely fall in love with the soup as you can choose any types of offals, from heart to intestines. Eewww...
