Beef burger OK Jun 10, 2012

I've read quite a few negative comments and reviews on this fast food joint and I was quite reluctant to try it but a hungry stomach has to be satisfied no matter what, I decided to go in and just grab a burger before my hunger pangs got worse. The beef burger was bigger than what you find in other american fast food joints. Instead of beef patty, the deli used beef slices which was more juicy than patties. The bun was a bit dry and my cheese still felt cold in the burger. The chef was generous with the caramelized onions, too bad I'm not a fan of onions to begin with.

Maxi Moo OK Jun 10, 2012

Hailing as one of the newest local fast food in Malaysia is Darabif. IT claims that the meat used in their burgers are sourced from local farms thus the uniqueness. Though it labels itself as a fast food, customers can still expect to wait 5 to 10 minutes depending on the order. The maxi moo burger is what I got for my lunch. The double patty was juicy and goes well with the cheese. The bun was a little dry but it did well to soak up the juices from the meat and the salad in the burger was rather fresh.

Curry laksa OK Jun 04, 2012

I'm sure guys out there who has a girlfriend would have visited this place at least once and being dragged by your counterpart to some place you don't wanna end up is no fun. Though I admit this place provides a nice spot for photography but the food speaks another story. The curry laksa was not as spicy as I thought although there was the distinctive taste of santan but it could not give the spicy taste that I longed for.

Beef & miso OK Jun 03, 2012

If I remember correctly this is beef with miso or something in that range. The beef was lightly marinated with salt and pepper and you can choose the amount of miso sauce to put on the beef before grilling it on the pan or you can opt to dip the beef in the miso once you grilled it. The beef is cut very thinly so it will be cook very quickly on the pan. It's abit hard to satisfy the taste buds with the miso sauce as it was either too salty or too bland and I could not find the right balance with the sauce before running out of beef.

Ahoy capt' OK Jun 03, 2012

As far as I can remember, this iconic restaurant has been there for the last 20 years or more and I've always been fascinated with the front door design which is like the bow of a ship. Word of warning, don't think about patronizing this place if you are not the type willing to splurge. The mixed grill has a slice of beef, lamb, chicken, bacon and sausage topped with a sunny side egg on a bed of fries. I requested for my beef to be made medium rare but it came out medium well done and a little charred. Guess the chef was pretty busy that night. I love the bacon as it was crisp and thinly sliced too bad there was only one slice.
