Prawn mee Smile Aug 03, 2012   (Related Review)

Phew.. I must warn you that this is VERY spicy! You can see that the colour of the soup is already reddish instead of a normal brown colour. Prawns were fresh and the flesh was sweet and crunchy. Actually it is just a regular looking bowl of prawn mee with mihun, beansprouts etc but the prawns are bigger than other places and it is yummier too! Suggest you to have a cup of water nearby.

Asam laksa Smile Aug 03, 2012   (Related Review)

Even though the restaurant's name is Loke Sok Seafood, they also have several small stalls selling other foodstuff. Experienced my first Penang laksa here. The bowl was chocked full of ingredients! It had an abundance of cucumbers, shredded fish, pineapples, onions, mint leaves and of course, a spoonful of fragrant prawn paste. The combination of spicy, salty, sour and minty was awesome. Noodles were really bouncy too.

Octopus Smile Aug 03, 2012

When we arrived at Gurney Drive, the first thing we noticed was the vast ocean view. Then when we turned around, we discovered that the whole street was full of seafood restaurants! We simply walked into one that looked more simple and less expensive. Ordered a plate of these lightly boiled octopus that were slightly salted. Very fresh and yummy! Absolutely enjoyed chewing on the crunchy and salty octopus.

Char hor fun Smile Aug 03, 2012

I remember this place to be pretty popular as it's not only right beside the beach but there's a big night market along the road. The moment we sat down at a table, we were asked non stop if we wanted alcohol by the women. The plate of char hor fun we ordered tasted pretty good though. It was heavily laden with ingredients and had a very fragrant smokey aroma. Tastes best with a hint of chilli!

Spring Roll Smile Aug 03, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Stall / Warung

Being in a land we are not familiar with, we looked around to see what the others were eating. In the end we ordered two servings of the fried spring roll since we saw almost every table having a plate! They did take a while to arrive but yum! I guess it was worth the wait. The skin is crispy and crunchy but not oily. When you bite inside you can taste the sweetness of the juicy and soft vegetables.
