Dry Fried Pork Pan Mee Cry Dec 24, 2012   (Related Review)

The dry version was even worse compared to the soupy one! Observe the sad looking leaves. The dark sauce (underneath) was sweet and when I ate the food with the provided sauce (in saucer), it tasted like iced lemon tea. Not kidding.

To take my mind (or taste buds) off the strange iced lemon tea taste, I smothered it with the dried chilli flakes. Only to find.. a strand of hair inside. I just threw it away, thinking it could be from a disgusting customer.

Despite me not liking the noodles or the sauce, the fried pork slices are yummy! The skin is crispy and the inside is just so full of flavour.

Soup Fried Pork Pan Mee Cry Dec 24, 2012
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

Searching for food in SS2 and decided on Jojo Little Kitchen since my friend was raving about it. This is the Fried Pork Pan Mee in soup (RM 7.30).

The crunchy fried pork was really good!! Quite a number of slices too and topped with lots of crunchy ikan bilis. But I'm afraid that's the end of the compliments. I quote "It's not even soup but water used to wash the vege" as there was barely any taste. Amount of veges was pathetic. Noodles were too thick and hard for our preference.

Kimchi jigae Smile Dec 21, 2012

Categories : Korean | Restaurant | Noodles | BBQ

The place is nicely decorated with a warm feeling and the staff are very attentive and polite.

Some welcome food - corn, sweet potato and edamame.

Our side dishes arrived first. Disappointed as there were only 6 types and I only fancied the crunchy lotus root. We asked for a refill of that and stated 'make sure it's enough for 6 people' since there were only 3 slices. He returned with 6 slices lol!

Kimchi Jigae (RM 22.90) is a Korean stew made from spicy Kimchi paste, tofu, rice cakes and sliced beef brisket. It's served in a big bowl with some rice (portion enough for one).

The beef isn't too hard and I absolutely love the rice cakes! You can request for less/more spicy. The soup is great at opening our appetites (we were already starving though) but I wouldn't say it's spectacular.

Cute watermelon juice!

After our meals, we were treated to a cup of cold plum juice. *slurp* One of the best drinks I've had in my life!

Overall, I think it's a nice place to treat yourself once in a while. I've had similar kimchi jigae at a much lower price so maybe you can try the other stuff like the heart shaped Unyangsik!

Chicken chop with rice Smile Dec 20, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Vietnamese | Restaurant | Noodles

I wasn't very impressed with an earlier dish I had here but the chicken chop with rice was recommended by a friend. At RM 13.90, it's not something I would have often. The chicken is fantastic! It's still juicy and tender and tasted like teriyaki. A sweet-sour sauce is provided which amps up the taste but I think the chicken already tastes great on its own. Soup's not bad and rice was slightly too hard. They forgot my friend's order as the place is quite busy so make sure to remind the waiter.

Milk Coffee Smile Dec 20, 2012

Categories : Taiwanese | Juices / Bubble Tea / Tea / Yogurt

I've always been a fan of Milk Tea and I love coffee but this was my first cup of Milk COFFEE! The drink has a very strong coffee taste and aroma. I like my coffee with milk so this combination is great for me. I don't think there's enough milk to justify it's name though. We've also added on Grass Jelly topping and it was delightful to sip into the sweet, slightly bitter coffee mixture. Price wise, it's quite affordable and cheaper compared to many other shops.
