This hot soup tasted so fine...
Hmm... I'll remember the taste always...

White fish baked in a sour, creamy dill sauce, topped with shrimps
& lots of cheeze.Served with baked mashed potatoes
Wow, this popular dish is really mouth watering and can be shared by two,

I had my dinner at Vietnam Kitchen, Jaya 33, that located at groud floor,
the entrance located outside of the building.

It has a oriental taste set-up and bright lighting, and clean.

They have few round tables cater for big groups.

I will share with you a few dishes that I tried at Vietnam Kitchen, Jaya 33.

First: Vietnamese Braised Spring Chicken
越式童子鸡

We thought this was great as the price at RM22.90,
however, the taste is not up to expectation. It could be better if they can make it a bit crispy and add more herbs!

Second: Caramel Pork Belly in Claypot
RM16.90
越式卤片煲

Looks ordinarily but the we really enjoy the taste! Well done!
Meat cooked to a tender texture with the right mixture of spices.
Yummy. Recommend to my non muslim friends to give it a try!

Third:
Appetizers (前菜)looks a bit like the Thai appertizers,
so we chosen no. 8
Flat Rice Roll with Grilled Beef (3pcs)
越式牛肉肠粉
RM6.50

If you do not consume beef, you may select
the original roll without meat(越式肠粉) (RM6.50)
or flat rice roll with grilled pork (越式肉片肠粉)(RM7.50)
Plan to try this in the future!
This rice roll presentation, served with special sauce.
Not spicy but taste was really above expectation!

A closer look to the ingredients inside the flat rice roll

Fourth:
We didn't order rice but want to have something with soup,
so ended up with this order of
Pork Ball Noodle Soup
猪肉丸汤河
RM11.90

Pork Ball Noodle Soup
is also amazing. Never taste so good when dining out for noodle soup.
Worth the price!

My overall experience was satisfactory, however need some patient to get the food.
There were a lot of customers even after 8.30pm.

Give it a try and judge by yourself!

Also serve Double Pot Combo Set at RM29.90.

Charms Cafe (One Utama) is located at 2nd floor near to the TGV cinema and FOS.

Personally I had a good dining experience in this place

It has a very nice deco with these colourful lanterns.

Lamb Charmer is my pick
Lamb Charmer (RM18.90)
Rating: 2.5/5
I find it was overcooked and quality has been
reducing compare to my previous visit.
Lamb Charmer served with rice

&

Drip-on Vietnamese coffee (stronger type)
Rating: 2/5
Not as thick and fragrance as I thought.
Personally I felt a bit dissapointed for this order.

I would like to visit in the future to try out more!

We decided to try this steamboat during weekend.
When we got the menu, we noted that the first page in the menu explained
the history fo Tian Siang. Tian means Sky in mandarin, Siang means Fragrance
in short, Tian Siang means the food aroma from Heaven; and it is related to the Genghis Khan's empire during the Mongolian era.

Let me introduce what is "成吉思汗" Genghis Khan, it refers to a well known chinese historical hero, he started the Mongol invasions that would ultimately result in the conquest of most of Eurasia.

By the end of his life, the Mongol Empire occupied a substantial portion of Central Asia and China.
About Genghis Khan Barbecue usually using lamb and vegetables, barbecued, often at the table.
天香回味鍋 (Tian Siang Hui Wei Steamboat) is invented by Genghis Khan in the 12th century for his soldiers's meal. Genghis Khan understands that in order to conquer the world, his soldiers must have strong and healthy body, and having food with lots of nutrition.
Now, 天香回味鍋 (Tian Siang Hui Wei Steamboat) becomes the successful Taiwanese steamboat. Therefore, this steamboat soup base is cooked with
more than 60 types of herbs/ plants, no MSG added to the soup, and can eat without any sauce.
The atmosphere of the restaurant made us feel like VIPs.
The main colours to furnish this place are greenish gold, the huge wall picture is used to illustrate part of the Mongol Empire that was conquered by Genghis Khan.

Now, get our choice of the soup base, these soup base are cooked
with 60 types of herbs/ plants without MSG:
Original and Spicy combo (天香回味鍋 - 鸳鸯)
Spicy (天香鍋底- 辣味)
Original (回味鍋底- 原味)
Vegetarian (素食鍋底)
(Small for RM30, Big for RM35);
Small for 2 - 4 persons; Big for 5 - 8 persons
Good news is that they allow refill of soup.

We ordered the hand puff noodles (thick and long ramen) (手工拉面)
RM10 per plate
For vege, we choosed asparagus (芦笋)
RM15 per plate.
Then we decided to have vegetarian balls, mix of black bright pearl and white bright pearl (夜明珠,白明珠)
Their utensils are sterilised as shown below

Here come the vegetarian base soup! Wow, the smell is extraordinarily good.
The taste of herbs is quite strong.

Asparagus
It's a bit pricey to have the raw materials for steamboat
but I guess the main attraction is to taste the soup base with 60 herbs
and prepared following the Genghis Khan's way

Look, the handmade ramen is boiling.
And mind you, the ramen need to be cooked with hot soup for 15mins.
For a well cook Ramen, you need to be patient.

Finally, my bowl of healthy and nutricious meal was ready!
The vegetarian ball was very worth to try, firm with substance and nice to bite.

It is pricey no doubt but I think is worth to taste it even just once in life!

Last but not least, we were served the Qing Xiang Cha (清香茶)
and it was non caffeinated. I like the very light fragrance
from the tea and it's very smooth.
RM2.20 for a tall pot

Total damage: RM73.70 for 2 person

How to get to this restaurant?

The shop is located at 2nd floor which you need to take a lift to go up or alternatively use the stairs.
It is facing the road and not the small garden inside Sunway Giza.
A huge green signboard can be seen from the windows, both at the entrance and the side.

Address:
Unit B-08-02, 2rd Floor
Block B Sunway Giza Mall
No.2 Jln PJU5/14, PJU5 Kota Damansara
47810, Petaling Jaya.
Tel : 03 61482268 (for reservation)

Henry Cook at SSTwo Mall Smile Jun 22, 2012

Henry Cook Signature Singapore Nyonya Laksa @ LG, SStwo Mall.

This menu cover explained that Chef Henry is the founder for Henry Cook and he was one of the top chef in the renowed Hyatt Hotel.

He combined his vast experience of western and Peranakan food (Nyonya food) and served a wicked range of fusion food such as the ever popular Laksa and
Chicken Donar Kebab.
We ordered its Signature Singapore Nyonya Laksa

This is the Nyonya Laksa

A closer look
Taste is authentic with kebab chicken, fish cake, bean sprout, laksa leaves and sambal chillis.

Fruit punch

The place is simply elegant

The food preparation area.

The Dona Kebab (pita bread served with meat marinated overnight)
is another highlight and it tasted like home-made food.
Come with sambal chilli as sauce to dip if prefer more spicy taste.
Few choices that I could remember are:
Chicken and cheese
Mutton and cheese
Mutton only
Vegetables only

However, my friend was a little dissapointed as the Nyonya Laksa seems
to be the only Nyoya food served even though the shop.

Well, overall experience was not bad and the price is affordable.
It also has free wifi.
