This is my second visit to J & E with my mum. Mum had their Bak Kut Teh with rice (RM 11.50); while I had their braised lamb Pan Mee.

Braised lamb aka "Yeung Lam" Pan Mee (RM 8.00)

I had my braised lamb pan mee the dried version. At RM 8, the operator is is definitely not stingy in putting in the ingredients. The pan mee is huge with lots of vegetables, lamb cutlets and "Foo Chok" slices. The meats were well marinated and very tender. A very satisfying meal........yummy yummy.....

Soup accompanying the pan mee

The soup is clear and tasty....If you find the pan mee a little bit dry, just add some of the soup into the mee.....The pan mee taste good even with the soup in it........

Besides, selling various types of bun, Baker's Cottage also sells lots of cakes. I got the following cake slices at a very cheap price during their cake slices promotion. I got two slices of cakes at RM 7. Usual price is about RM 5 per slice. However, the cakes are short expired. Have to consume them within 2 days. I ate them after my work for two consecutive days.

Royal Fruit Cake (RM 3.50)

The cake is soft and has lots of fruit cubes especially peach in betwwen the layers of sponge cake.........

Big slices of peach on top of the cake

Chocolate Paradise (RM 3.50)

The top chocolate coating taste a bit weird.....but the the sponge cake and chocolate layer on the bottom of the cake taste good..........

A slightly sour big strawberry on top of the cake

The Baker's Cottage has been around since 1994. Baker's Cottage is part of the Leong Hup Holdings Berhad, a public listed company on the main board of KLSE. They produce a lot of bakey products such as cookies, mooncakes and cakes. They have a lot of outlets around the Klang Valley as well as in Seremban and Johor.

I got the following breads for my lunch.

Butter raisin bun (RM 2.10)

The outer layer of the bread is coated with sugar and raisins. The inside of the bun is filled with butter and cream. People with diabetes shouldn't take this bun because it is very sweet.

The back of the raisin bun

Apple bun (RM 2.10)

The bun is soft and fluffy and filled with apple cubes....yummy yummy...........

There are lots of apple filling inside the bun.

One of the food stall in Danau Desa's food court sells Taiwan spare ribs noodles, minced meat noodles, beef noodles and China Dumplings. This stall is operated by a Chinese couple. Feeling hungry after work, I packed 4 pieces of China dumplings to eat as my supper.

My 4 pieces of dumplings (RM 2.40; RM 0.60 per piece)

The dumplings were served in a clear soup with lots of seaweed. Besides, vinegar mixed with garlic were also being provided to dip the dumplings. For those who like vinegar, you can add some of the vinegar into the soup to make the soup tastier.........Yummy......

Close shot of the dumpling

The dumpling is huge in size. Definitely worth the price.

The filling of the dumpling made of well marinated minced meat mixed with vegetables

Durian Pancake OK Jul 13, 2012

Categories : Bakery / Cake / Kuih

I always pass by Lee Lee's Sumptuous Desserts kiosk in The Gardens and saw many beautiful desserts being sold at the kiosk. Among the desserts are durian pancakes, jackfruit (cempedak) pancakes, tiramisu and jellies. The desserts were prepared fresh every morning. According to them, the durian pancake is their best seller, thus I decided to get myself 2 pieces of durian pancakes.

My box of 2 pieces of durian pancake (RM 4.00)

This delicate pillow of pancake of pleasure is consisted of pure durian flesh and cream wrapped in a light crepe skin. Just one bite and I am sure durian lovers will love it. The durian pancakes were not too sweet, just nice for my liking.

Filled with abundance of soft cream and durian flesh filling....they are not stingy in putting in fresh durian flesh....
