The "Hot" Pan Mee Smile Jun 07, 2012
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

First of all, don't be misled by the signboard. I can assure you that the noodles served here are far from chilly.

Well, there isn't much options of pan mee here as compared to Jojo Pan Mee, only a few types namely the chili pan mee in which they are famous for, normal soup pan mee, dumpling soup etc.

This is what you get when you order chili pan mee; minced meat, half boiled egg, fried shallots and fried anchovies. Where's the chilies then? Don't worry, at Super Kitchen, you're free to add the ground dried chili paste onto your noodles according to your own preference/spiciness tolerance level. Hehe.

Mix them up and eat~!

Chicken Pepper Rice Smile Jun 07, 2012

Categories : Japanese | Food court | Steaks / Chops | Burgers / Sandwiches

I remembered seeing the Pepper Lunch Express outlet at Pavilion but wasn't too keen to dine in because I thought the price was rather costly.

How would I know that so many years later I would have fallen in love with the chicken pepper rice?

The set above is chicken pepper rice set meal which comes with a complimentary soup. By default, mushrooms and egg weren't included, I added them on. As you can see from the picture, lots of black peppers were seen. Don't worry, the chefs don't usually include that much. I personally added them on because I wanted my rice to have a better fragrance.

How to eat? Mix the ingredients around evenly with the special sauce (it's covered by the corns), let them cook a while and your meal is ready to be eaten lol

The Real Kajang Satay Smile Jun 07, 2012
Categories : Malaysian variety | Kopitiam

I enjoy satays. Even better if there is no fat in it. Unfortunately most satays these days come with a little bit of fat in each stick sad

Bf told me about this shop which sells satay of lean meat only. Yes, all meat, which came in thick and juicy cuts, perfectly marinated and skewered beforehand lol

There are FIVE different types of satay : chicken, beef, fish, duck and mutton. Picture above is chicken satay. As you can see from picture, the kuah has a dollop of sambal which gives the customers extra "oomph" and spiciness than the usual peanut sauce. Not enough sauce? No problem! Request for top up at no extra cost. Ketupat is also available at a cheap price as well.

POPcorn OK Jun 07, 2012
Categories : Stall / Warung

Garett's popcorn is definitely the new attraction in town. There is always a long queue in front of Candylicious One Utama, most are seen to be queuing up for these tasty popcorns.

This is the Macademia Caramel Crisp. Coated with caramel together with macademia nuts, this type is exactly the one that I like. Some of them are rather big piece though, making it difficult for me to slowly enjoy the popcorns bits by bits.

Cheese corn. Luckily for me, I managed to sample this type instead of purchasing the whole bag otherwise I think I'm gonna regret about it. Too cheesy (and perhaps oily) to my liking. Not to mention that the popcorns are softer compared to those caramel coated ones.

Butter popcorn on top. Nothing special to shout about on this. Salt and butter, and you get butter popcorn!

In conclusion, Garett's popcorns are expensive. It's ok to have this once in a blue moon though tongue

Bestseller indeed Smile Jun 06, 2012

Categories : Taiwanese | Stall / Warung | Desserts

Have you eaten Snowflake? If you haven’t, then you should try out this dessert as soon as possible.

Snowflake has been around since 2009 if I’m not mistaken. I had my first bowl of
Snowflake in the Subang SS15 outlet. Years passed and finally a new outlet was opened in Kota Damansara area. The same day I brought my sister to try the chili pan mee at Super Kitchen, I introduced her to this dessert as well. Being one who doesn’t venture into new restaurants/food as frequent as I do, she has never tasted this delicious dessert before even though it has been around for so long shocked

Kota Damansara outlet is usually crowded with people, especially at night. Luckily for us, there weren’t many people when we visited this outlet. Placed the order for her and sister was then seen examining the beeping UFO like a detective.

No prizes for what I ordered. It was none other than their bestseller.

Grass jelly, grass jelly ice, taro balls and creamer (not seen in picture).

As I predicted, sister loved it so much lol On the other hand, despite eating this dessert for so many times, I still feel that Snowflake Bestseller tastes much better without the creamer. In fact, the creamer is so mild that it barely makes the jelly ice any tastier. The taro balls (my favourite! lol) were chewy with a light hint of yam and both the grass jelly and grass jelly flavoured shaved ice was really refreshing and cooling.

Snowflake = your saviour on a sunny day!
