Pancakes anytime! Smile Jun 07, 2012
Categories : Western variety | Restaurant | Burgers / Sandwiches | Sweets/Snack

Pancakes are no longer served as breakfast anymore but one can have pancakes any time of the day if you ever visited Paddington House of Pancakes.

Oreo pancakes with banana served with maple syrup and vanilla ice cream. I was quite surprised to see the pancakes to be in dark brown colour then only I realised these were oreo pancakes, hence the colour. Heh. Pour the maple syrup over the pancakes to your desired level of sweetness and there you go, one yummy dessert (or lunch in my case) is served smile

Pancakes with mango puree, strawberry ice cream, peaches & nuts. Surprisingly the mango puree went well with the pancakes and its taste wasn't too artificial. Worth trying!

Salad, anyone? Smile Jun 07, 2012

The Salad Bar offers a variety of food which are healthier and their price is affordable too.

Tropical Fruits at half of the price, which means that the serving is half as well. I liked what I ordered because I consider myself a "fruit" person, so naturally nothing beats this salad with mango/grapes toppings. Very refreshing and filling trust me! I couldn't even finish this half bowl on my own.

House yogurt. Served with honey and your desired topping(s). If only I knew the honey can be added more I would have done so. This yogurt is too sour to me hence it's not what I would order on my first pick.

Of bulgogi and bibimbap Smile Jun 07, 2012

Categories : Korean | Restaurant | BBQ

This restaurant has always been around even when I was in high school. Ever since I moved to KL for tertiary education I've completely forgotten about this place until I saw my friend posted a picture of him dining in here on Facebook!

I was really happy that such place still exists after so many years, it's a good restaurant which offers really awesome food at affordable price afterall, so I told my bf that we would be visiting this place on one weekend.

Restaurant still looked pretty much the same as before, just like how I remembered it to be, a first glance through the menu and I noticed that the price of food is somewhat the same as well, perhaps the price did increase but not too significant to be noticed.

I ordered the Grilled Bulgogi Chicken set (beef is available too). Chicken was fairly tender, cooked in the sweet-ish bulgogi sauce and gave off a lovely fragrance from far. However, the portion of chicken was not much, but with the complimentary side dishes (tofu, kimchi and bean sprouts) with a bowl of rice and soup (and fruits!), this set meal turned out to be quite satisfying to me lol

Bibimbap for the bf. Carrot strips, seaweed, fried egg, cucumber strips, red bell pepper and so on. Mixed these ingredients evenly with the rice covered in bibimbap sauce and you're good to go!

Spending per head: Approximately RM25

Deep dark chocolate ice cream  Smile Jun 06, 2012

Categories : Western variety | Café | Burgers / Sandwiches | Sweets/Snack

Had the opportunity to be at The Bee and the first thing I did was to check out their ice cream corner! So many choices to choose from; Guinness, Nutella, Salted Gula Melaka and many more.

I've bought a tub of Nutella, Horlicks and Malt & Peanut Butter each back home before this so my aim was to buy a new flavour for me to try on! Needless to say, Deep Dark Chocolate was the winner that night.

My first impression on the ice cream was "this looks very dark, does that mean it's gonna be very bitter?" Hesitated, I finally dug in into the ice cream. The next 3 minutes I felt like I was in heaven. Why? The ice cream was so rich in chocolate that it tasted so flavorful and there was no slightest hint of bitterness at all.

I wish I could buy home another tub of ice cream sad

Have you tried white pearls?  Smile Jun 06, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Taiwanese | Stall / Warung | Juices / Bubble Tea / Tea / Yogurt

Gong Cha was founded in 2006. Since I was at MidValley/The Gardens for a movie screening one night, I decided to take this opportunity to try the bubble tea after reading so much about their signature winter melon tea from a friend of mine.

It wasn't easy for me to locate the outlet itself since I had no idea where it was in the first place. Ah yes, the floor directory did help me out. FYI, you can see Gong Cha if you're coming up from the escalator from first floor. My friend and I took a different route and we arrived from the opposite direction; I spotted the seating area for Gong Cha first in front of Ying Ker Lou restaurant and I thought it was slightly confusing because one can only see the outlet itself if they walked further away heading towards the escalators. As mentioned earlier on, the seating area is located away from the store itself. There're only about 4/5 tables available.

I initially wanted to order the winter melon milk tea with white pearls but unfortunately they ran out of white pearls at that time so I opted for the Gong Cha signature milk winter melon tea. I really wanted to try the white pearls though sad As the name implies, white pearls are white in colour (more like transparent maybe). From what I've read online, these white pearls are low in calories/carbs (perfect for health freaks) and are slightly harder to be chewed on.

At Gong Cha, you can ask for your drinks to be prepared according to you preferred sugar/ice level with no extra charge.

To drink Gong Cha, here are the three different ways to enjoy your drinks!

#1 Milk moustache - without stirring, sip the tea from top layer of milk foam followed by the more complex flavours of the tea.
#2 Tea off - without stirring, sip the tea from the bottom with a straw to savour the freshness and complexity of the tea.
#3 All in one - Stir both layers together and drink up!
