Home Kitchen Smile Jul 31, 2012

I am not familiar with this area of Puchong Jaya but I see that Home Kitchen is one of the very popular restaurant there serving all kinds of Chinese cuisine. The restaurant itself gives a homey feel, with air-condition. Here it is recommended to have family gathering under the traditional setting.

I love the salted egg prawn balls, which is so juicy with thick coating of salted egg yolks. Surprisingly, the coating is very thick but not dry at all. It balances up the flavours of sweet succulent prawns in the inside and saltiness on the outside. The prawns are really fresh and huge. Pricewise, my wallet is very satisfied after the delicious meal.

Restoran 88 Chinese Food Smile Jul 31, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood

Restoran 88 at Kuchai Lama sells chinese dishes, rice and noodles, which serves best for family and large group dining. It is quite popular among the neighbourhood and most of the returning customers are loyal supporters of the restaurant.

The spinach soup here is quite good, with minimum amount of MSG but stuffed with lots of vegetables, century egg, salted egg yolk and goji berry. Every mouthful is filled with condiments which make the broth very thick and flavourful. Although it is quite salty, I am satisfied with the generous portion and healthy natural flavours.

Famous Roast Duck in KL Smile Jul 31, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Stall / Warung

Sze Ngan Chye (4-eyed boy) is a very famous duck stall in KL, and their roasted ducks sell like hot cakes everyday. This is my first time buying some back home as an additional dish for dinner.

I'm truly amazed with the duck meat which comes with so tender meat and thin layer of fats. The skin remains crispy for hours, and a dip into the sweet sauce reveals the juiciness of the combination. The thick cut of the duck gives better texture and it simply suits for a simple family dinner. Delicious and not too oily for me!

Sin Chua Kee Smile Jul 31, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood

Sin Chua Kee is a chinese restaurant which serves all kinds of chinese variety food, ranging from seafood, vege, poultry and more. It is quite popular among families for a hearty dinner, especially during weekends.

Out of many dishes, I love their deep fried tilapia the most. The fish is very huge and fresh, with lots of succulent sweet meat under the crispy hot skin. The sauce is quite salty but goes well with the fish. The fish itself is around RM40, which is quite affordable considering the huge portion.

Teow Cheow H & L Smile Jul 31, 2012
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Porridge

Teow Cheow H & L is located along the very happening new row of shoplots in Sri Petaling. It serves various kinds of Chinese dishes in Teo Chew style. It is quite a medium-range type of porridge shop, and not much crowd yet during the weekend I visit this place.

I try their most basic white porridge, with added condiments. The porridge is very thick, with lots of crispy salty condiments of my choice. I did not add any meat into it, yet it already burst with flavours. The sourish vegetables balance up the salty broth. It is very filling for me, but the price is slightly above what I've expected.
