Nagomi Shabu Shabu OK Jun 10, 2012
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Steamboat/Hotpot | Noodles

More often than that, I was turned down by most of the steamboat restaurants with warm, stuffy ambience which made me sweating and feeling sticky after a no-matter-how-delicious-it-is meal. But, Nagomi now gives me a total different perception towards steamboat! It can be clean and tidy; and I can sit as long as I want to enjoy the heavenly foodstuff.

The seafood here is very fresh. Best to have it in miso soup, or cleap soup to reveal its freshness.

You can eat all the sushi you want. I am a sushi lover and I dont mind eating few more pieces of the healthy Japanese food while waiting for my food to be cooked in the hot steamboat pot.

There are few desserts served in the buffet line, but most of it do not match with the steamboat so I didnt take much from this.

Overall, it's a great dining experience with friends.

Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng OK Jun 10, 2012
Categories : Malay | Stall / Warung | Nasi Lemak

Being a typical Malaysian, I just can't resist getting a packet of nasi lemak when I can sense the aroma of santan rice wafting into the air.

The rice is chewy but sadly, the portion is quite small, so I have to add one piece of fried chicken to fill my stomach. I am quite satisfied with the chicken as it is still warm and has crispy skin when served. It is very rich in Malay herbs and spices flavours, so I find it more flavourful to have with the rice.

Chinese Dumpling at Night Market OK Jun 09, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Chinese | Malaysian variety | Stall / Warung

The Dumpling Festival is around the corner, and I bought one to sample in case if I need to order some from them during the upcoming festival.

The dumpling is quite big in size, slightly larger than usual. The nuts and meat are complemented well, with soft texture. The glutinous rice itself is quite chewy but I feel that it would be better if it can be marinated longer to keep the flavours going.

Overall, I don't see any fatty layer of meat, but I feel that it is an average piece of dumpling.

Crispy and Thick Apam Balik OK Jun 09, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Stall / Warung

The first piece of apam balik I tried is the thin one, with lots of corns in it. It is very crispy, and the egg batter is rich in egg flavours. However, the skin is quite good but not fragrant like the one I've tried at other places before.

Then I have another piece of thick apam balik. It is very thick and each piece is slightly bigger than the usual one. Very filling and not overly sweet for my taste.

Fong Lye: Food of Taiwanese Style OK Jun 09, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Taiwanese | Restaurant | Noodles

I have long heard about this Taiwanese restaurant, but I have yet to try it. Since the crowd there is not much for early lunch, I went in and tried some signature dishes.

Here's my 3 Variety Diced Chicken with rice set. It comes with fried bean curd and vegetables, and it satisfies me very much. The rice is steamed into perfection, and the beancurd is a little salty and crispy too.

The flaming hot chicken is very rich in taste, slightly salty and sweet. The meat is tender, and kept warm throughout the meal.

My favourite Banana milk is quite sweet in taste, but they are generous in adding much milk in it. However, the fruit tea is just of normal puree.
