Dinner at Dome  Smile Jun 22, 2012

It was after 7pm when we dropped in at Dome for dinner. The waitress who served us passed the 'Dinner at Dome' Menu and informed us that any meal ordered from this menu will be served either Apple Martini (Alcohol) or Virgin Appletini (non-alcohol). In the end, we ordered two items from this menu and got ourselves free drinks

Glad we ordered the non-alcohol drink, this drink is fantastic!
It's actually apple crush, fresh apple and honey blended with ice shavings. Delicious!!

Mum ordered one bowl of wild mushroom soup. The serving of this soup was big. We totally love this cause not only it's creamy, the soup have loads of mushroom in it!

Mum ordered an additional garlic bread to dip the soup with it. It's quite feeling and can be considered as a complete meal. Highly recommended to try the soup and the garlic bread. Dip the garlic bread into the soup and eat. Yummy

Beef burger. Grilled beef burger with chips. Burger is available with chicken

Salmon Steak - Grilled salmon served with salad, boiled potatoes and mushroom on the side.

Overall damage for the meals came up to RM100. Quite pricey but the food is really good. Higly recommended.

Went for an early dinner at the famous claypot chicken rice in Pudu. For first timer, people usually will have some difficulty locating this area because it's located near the round about, and Pudu Market.

When you walk towards the shop , you will noticed that their staff is busy preparing and cooking up the claypot chicken rice.

When you enter the restaurant, there is air-conditions in the premise, which is a plus sign given that the weather lately have been extremely hot. But mostly importantly, the place was neat and clean, and their wall have pictures of dishes they served.

Since there were only 2 of us, we ordered a medium size claypot chicken rice. You have the options of 3 sizes: small, medium and large. However, I found myself having two big helpings of the rice. lol The claypot chicken rice was really good and tasty, although I find the rice at the bottom of the pot was a bit dry.

Other dishes were delicious too.... take for example, green vegetables, it was soft and served fresh.

And the soup, it was out of this world.

Mum couldn’t resist ordering a bowl of pig’s stomach in white pepper soup. The pig’s stomach was something that I never really like but according to my mum, it was yummy and tender since she loves it, while me on the other hand, I prefer the soup more than the pig's stomach. I found the soup quite tasty, but the white pepper they put inside wasn't as hot or spicy that I wanted. However, it's worth trying though.

The place is known to be fully packed so if possible, it is advisable to go early. We arrived at 6pm and by 6.15pm the place was packed. I don't mind going back for another round because there are other dishes you can order other than the claypot chicken rice. Their Business Hours are from11.00am – 9.30pm, and closed every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month.

Decided to go to Jaya Palace Restaurant for dinner to celebrate my dad and cousin's birthday. We ordered their course meal set, to save the headache to decide what to order.

1st course to be served: Palace Four Season Combination. Great combination and love all the variety on this dish.

2nd course- Old cucumber soup.
It wasn't part of the set as the original dish was Shark Fin soup.
Mum and cousin felt that it was better to change the soup (Good choice).
The soup was okay, but felt it can be better

3rd course - Hong Kong Pigeon In Two Styles.
The drumstick and the wings were real tiny and it was kinder dry, possible due to the size.
However, the rest of the meat that was cooked and served were tender. Delicious

4th Course - Braised Fried Fish Maw with Prawn Balls.
Healthy Choice. and surprisingly it taste great!

5th Course -Braised Stuffed Dried Scallop & Sea Cucumber.
By the time this dish was served I was already full...and there were more to come.....

6th Course - Steamed Sliced Fish with Mui Choy.
Love the Mui Choy on this dish as it was sweet. Quite a lot of bones for this dish

7th Course - Roasted Pork 'E-Fu' Noodle.
Love this dish, the roasted pork was delicious and tender.

Lastly, we were served with the following desserts...not one but two: Special Fancy Pastries & Longan Pudding with Almond.

Overall, Jaya Palace serves the best dishes (although a bit pricey).

Journal by Plan B at Publika Smile Apr 16, 2012

Another get together with the gals. We decided to try this place at publika.
What attracted us were the display of vintage type writer *excited*.

Check out all those typewritter....still in good condition!

The view of the their interior indoor.

Outdoor - wooden chairs stuck to the ceiling *creative but scary at the same time*

It was the weekends (friday night) so it was crowded.
We gave them our name for queue and asked to return back after 20 to 30 minutes time.
We waited betweem 30 to 45 minutes before we were seated and have our meals ordered.
Our Caesar salads arrived within 10 minutes after our order.
Just love the fresh salads served with the egg on top. lol

Next came pasta, Wild Mushroom. My friend said it was not bad.
Serving was moderate.

Next came Char Grilled Cheeseburger.
The cheeseburger was slightly dry and the patty was burned at the bottom.
However, their onion rings made up for it

I think the highlight of the day was this dish, Marinara.
Spaghetti tossed with herby vine-ripened tomato sauce, served with prawns & calamari.
*Great dish but kinder slow waiting to be served*

Overall, the food are quite good and the pricing are reasonable. Lovely ambiance....but their service are bad. Our request for chilli sauce (4 times) were forgotten....which in the end we got up to get it for ourselves. One of our orders were forgotten (we ordered 2 sets of Cheeseburger) and after requesting to check 3 times, none of them came back to inform us on the outcome. We finally got their attention on our fourth attempt, only to be informed that the order went 'missing'. huffy My buddy waited more than an hour before she got her cheeseburger. Not good.

Hopefully the management would look into their service because the foods are quite good. I'll go back another for another round for their desserts.... when it's not crowded. Do expect to wait longer during the weekends cause it's crowded in the evening

Date of Visit: Mar 23, 2012

Spending per head: Approximately RM32(晚餐)
