Japanese food doesn't necessarily have to be ridiculously expensive. This Lunch Bento set is affordable at RM 15.80. Bento comes with chawanmushi and miso soup. The chawanmushi is alright but I like the flavoursome miso soup. The fried yam(?) on the bottom right is sweet and yummy. Salmon sashimi is very fresh as usual. The pieces are very big and thick. They're really smooth and melty.

There are people buying fried chicken skin at night markets but did you know there are also fried salmon skins? This one in particular is from Sushi Tei. It's quite a generous portion for RM 6.80 (considering the relative price of other dishes there). This skin is quite thick and very crispy. After eating about half though, I do begin to feel that they're too hard. It's slightly salty but sometimes I taste slight bitterness.

This Japanese restaurant is located on the lower ground floor of The Gardens. The outlet is a little small and space is quite cramp. One of the items we ordered is the Maguro Sushi which is actually tuna. You will know when sushi is fresh, the meat is not crumbling apart. This was exactly how the maguro sushi taste like, the tuna actually taste sweet. Besides the taste, it looks amazing too, enveloping the rice nicely. Service is excellent even though we sat at a hard to reach corner.Overal

Overall, except for the space constraints, would recommend this restaurant on the food quality.

The Chawanmushi (RM 6.50) could use a bit more taste. Other than that, it's really smooth and soft.A plate of salmon sashimi. This is RM 12 for 5 big juicy slices. The only thing I took off the train was the roe sushi. I do prefer ordering from the menu (takes time to arrive) as the choices available on the train are just too limited and repetitive.

As usual, they are packed and busy during lunch hour. We were better off with pouring our own drinks and taking the menu ourselves. I think the chairs here are pretty bulky too. It makes it hard to go in and out if you're seated in front of the train. My bowl of Niku Udon (RM 17.80). Udon noodles had a good bounce to them, there were many slices of beef and loved the seaweed. The only thing I wasn't too fond of was the soup which tasted quite plain (or is it supposed to be just diluted soy sauce?

For the price I guess I was expecting a bit more but I still like it because I love udon! Portion is just right for one person.

Sushi Tei lunch set. It's either RM 26 or RM 30 which is quite affordable for Japanese food considering the portion. It's a bento set which comes with chawanmushi and miso soup. The unagi bento set comes with pasta salad, rice and potato. Pasta salad wasn't that good (not soft enough) but the rest were okay. For the salmon sashimi set, the potato is replaced with vegetable tempura. (not oily, tastes great with the dip). The sashimi is fresh and tasty. This is the second time I'm having prawn sashi

Due to the amount of people dining here, you may have to wait a while to be seated and served.

Chicken Katsu Don
The chicken katsu don is served in square like wooden box. There is generous portion of fried chicken, egg and onions slices covering the rice, making it hidden beneath. The chicken is flavourful, but is a little soggy, probably due to the sauce that is drenched over the dish. However, the sauce gives some moisture to the rice, making is easier to be eaten.
