Beef rendang penne is a fusion food, it combines our local beef rendang with western pasta to make it the east meets west dish. Anyone who like to try the beef rendang, but thiking for a twist, the beef rendang penne is definitely a great choice. There were lots of pieces of beef rendang in the penne, the beef rendang was very delicious. The heavy spiced dry rendang was spicy and the meat were tender. It really goes well with the penne, which were cooked to perfection, not too soft nor too hard.

We ordered the Serai Tasting Platter as the appetizer, so that we can try out the most famous appetizer from this restaurant. The platter consists of three beef satay, three chicken satay, roasted capsicum with crisp bread, deep fried squid and sauteed garlic mushrooms. Personally, i think both the chicken satay and beef satay were very nice albeit the peanut sauce being too sweet. Other than that, the roasted capsicum on crisp bread was another good try. This is very much a local chinese dish, the sang har yin yong. The sang har is actually the river or fresh water prawn, usually the prawn has quite a big head and smaller body. Ying yong is the combination of two noodles, which is the crispy fried mee hoon and the silky smooth thick hor fun. The egg broth is thick, and flavorful, with lots of vegetables in it. The strong taste of the garlic in the broth is also my favorite. The prawns were fresh but not very meaty.

Nasi goreng kampung sounds like a normal dish, but here is Serai, they will make it more special. The nasi goreng kampung comes with two chicken satay, the pickled vegetables, cucumber, and the keropok. The fried rice was fried with chicken breast strips, kangkung and ikan bilis. The fried rice was indeed very fragrant, the rice was fluffy, aromatic and tasty. Also love the chicken satay with the peanut sauce. But i do feel that the peanut sauce was too sweet, but chunks of peanuts in it.

I think this is a good place for nasi kerabu. Although the price is more expensive, but looking at the portion and the quality, i think it is worth the money paid. The restaurant run out of the blue color rice, and instead substitute lemon grass rice. No complain about that although slightly upset. Nasi Kerabu. The nasi kerabu came with a blue hue rice, grilled chicken, ulam, solok lada, salted egg, keropok and chili paste. The mixed the ulam, chili paste and some seasonings together with the rice, and it tasted really good. No doubt it was slightly salty, but all the aroma and taste worked well together. The grilled chicken was fragrant, albelt slightly overburnt.

Beef Burger. The beef burger was served alongside some chips and two dipping sauce: mayonnaise and chili sauce. The burger has beef patty, lettuce, cheese, caramelized onions and tomato slice. The beef patty was slightly burnt at the edge, but the inner patty was still moist and aroma with beef flavour. The cheese was melted together with the caramelized onions. Overall, it was good and slightly salty.

This resturant serve malay dishes and sweet dessert. One of special menu here is Nasi Ulam Ayam bakar. The chicken was slightly burn, but overall it is a really good dish. The serai tea was not bad too. The taste of the tea and serai just balance, make it a perfect healthy drink. There is also a sweet dessert seve here such as variety of cakes, pavlova, puddings and muffins. The restaurant decoration is spacious and nice. Price is also reasonable.
