I was genuinely craving for some good Thai food and so was the best friend. Since we wanted to get some drinks around the area and this was the best option, we went to My Elephant for some good grubs. For starters we got their mixed platter set that comes with fried fish cakes and also spring rolls. I was quite excited for this except there really wasn't anything much to shout about as this dish was mediocre at best. However the spring roll and the sauce was quite good. And because I like veggetables, we also got the belacan fried kangkung. Again I was quite disappointed by what I was getting because this dish was only so-so. For the price I was paying at MyElephant, you'd think it would taste better with less oil. In fact I think I can get better kangkung at local zi char restaurant. However the meal was made up with the Green Curry Chicken. Although this was not as creamy as I would have personally preferred, the flavours were good and there's a good hint of spice. I could finish the whole bowl of it myself easily. Unfortunately I feel like the standards has dropped just a little bit. Though I hope that it was just a bad night or something.  continue reading

the sri hartamas branch is the most nicest of alli think because the target market is the rich so the restaurant looks the most posh and modernyou would think that people don't eat rice for dessert but the thai people dothe glutinous rice is brown rice and the mango are cut in cubes for easy consumptionon the side the chef provides some coconut milk to drizzle on the mango and rice before you eat it continue reading

heard that this is one of the best thai food restaurant here in kuala lumpur.. so i decided to try out.. they have really good environment there but sadly the place is quite small and it's always have really long queue, i suppose this is because its good? hmm, or we ordered starter, i dont know what is it called, as shown in the first picture.. its good, but not really my taste.. then the usual dish.. the tomyum and other dishes is way too spicy as i can't really eat it even though i really love spicy food! but this is way too spicy than i'm expected.. luckily the fishcake is good just don't mix with chili anymore.. i enjoying having my dinner here just that during the whole course, i've been drinking alot of water due to the spiciness of the food.. continue reading

continue reading

After more than three years of brisk business at Section 17, My Elephant recently opened a second Aladdin's cave of Thai cuisine in another suburban neighborhood. This branch's menu seems slightly wider, but we stuck to our longtime Elephant favorites. The duck curry with lychee & dragon fruit was as addictive as always _ a creamy concoction anchored by bountiful slices of tender meat. Salt-baked fish, boasting marvelously moist flesh. My Elephant's prices have remained remarkably reasonable over the years _ a boon in this era of soaring costs. White Thai kangkung with chicken & prawns. Ferociously spicy. Plenty of rice, potentially sufficient to spur someone to spend hours on the treadmill. One complaint: no wine is available so far, only beer. Bookings are essential; the place is packed even on weeknights. The crowds only leave after 10pm, once the kitchen is closed. continue reading
