Looking at the crowd during lunch time gave an impression either the food in this cafe really great or at reasonable price. I like loh shu fun and whenever there is loh shu fun in the menu I would not give it a miss. A good and nice loh shu fun is hard to come by in any cafe or kopitiam. The loh shun fun is served hot as it was in clay pot. Quite a big portion maybe due to it only came with an egg, some cabbage and I don't recall any chicken meat or dice as this is a halal cafe. I just remember myself digging only the loh shu fun from the clay pot and nothing else. Tasted quite bland without the pork lard.

If your lunch budget does not fit in the Pavillion Oriental, then MJ Cafe would be a good choice to have your stomach filled. First impression when looking at the menu – great place with tons of variety, western, thai, local flavoured cuisine and the in-between. Amazing this cafe can cover it all with their budgeted offering. The crowd too seems promising enough that this cafe is indeed worth a try. But does it all tasted as great? We’ll find out soon. Napolit Spaghetti Set RM 9.90 comes with a drink. Simple set, filling and not anything you would come back for. Priced reasonably, the chicken is fried to crisp and spaghetti is decent.

Curry chicken in a bread RM8.50 looks good but was absolutely disappointing. The curry is watery and tasted more like a tom yum soup. Served hot, and the chicken was a few chunks drown in the bread... a very huge bread that was not meant to be finished.

Western cuisine is not the cafe’s specialty, I assure you. I did regret not ordering ‘fried rice’ after looking at what every table is having. So next time I’ll better go for the rice to be on the safe side.

MJ Café and Restaurant offered all day set menu from 11am till closing time. The set menu includes one main course and one drink. Among the choices, I picked Hotplate Kung Po Fish Fillet Rice at RM7.90+. For beverage, I chosed iced lemon tea. Service at this restaurant is slow and relax. The main course came pipping hot on the hotplate. Taste wise, it was very salty and lack of spiciness from the chilli. The fish fillet was deep fried in batter and subsequently cooked in the sauce. There were some spring onions and dried chilli for the kung po sauce. The fish fillet was not my ideal fish fillet. The iced lemon tea lacked flavors and tasted bland.

The environment and clean and often packed especially during weekends. They have a big LCD TV there for the customer to watch football too.
