Madam Kwan nasi lemak come with rendang chicken, a good portion of sambal and some side dish such as peanut. The rendang chicken is so good, great with the richness and the santan taste, sambal is very well prepared, not too spicy, yummy~~

Looks familiar? Yea, this is the zesty Prawn Mee that we know fondly, and this fare was served by the famous Madam Kwan Restaurant. The soup was decently flavoured with the nice aroma of prawns. The slices of meat were tangy and prawns were fresh too. However, I would prefer if there were more leafy vegetables to accompany this bowl of noodles nutritionally. Should you want a richer taste, then you could dip into their in house chilies added with lime too. Anyway, I guess am still longing for th

Nasi Bojari(RM19++) CendolMushroom Chic RiceI have fond memories of eating there for special family treats as I loved their nasi lemak. It is huge as it comes with beef rendang but I prefer it with chicken curry which I always replace. The rice has a nice aromatic taste that goes especially well with the deep fried chicken. The chicken is nicely fried and juicy while the curry chicken is nice.

Madam Kwan is one of those restaurants I would bring visitors to if they are not into street food. This place serves decent local food and it's more comfortable to dine in. The other day a couple of friends from Melbourne visited and this was where I chose to meet them.I ordered the Char Kueh Tiaw instead of my usual Nasi Lemak. This is actually a decent plate of CKT. Enough 'wok hei', big prawns. And the noodles were seasoned well. I enjoyed this with gusto. My friends ordered the Assam laksa a

My friends ordered the Assam laksa and they were happy with their choices too. Albeit a little pricey, it's still worth it for the comfortable seating and most importantly the air-conditioning.

Apart from malaysian cuisine, Madam Kwan also serves western food though I'm not sure how popular it is with the crowd. The picture above is the chicken chop from Madam Kwan though I feel weird ordering western food in a restaurant geared towards asian food. The chicken chop was breaded well and given the deep fried treatment though the outcome was a bit too dry for my liking.

Madam Kwan's is one of those upscale places which try to bring the authenticity of street food into the high class environment. The prices charged by the restaurant is not cheap at all for the food you can get from other places. The cendol here is one of the best if compared with other upscale restaurants serving this roadside dessert. The gula melaka is very fragrant and thick and you can request for me if you find it not enough to drenched the whole bowl of cendol with the gula melaka.

Madam Kwan’s is usually very crowded and fully occupied. I guess one of its main attractions is that, this restaurant gathers and serves mostly all the local delicacies of Malaysia. And those dishes are yummy too as they are cooked and prepared in the authentic way. Therefore, it is one of the best places to recommend to your expatriate friend who happen to be in town for vacation. I bet they gonna love Malaysia moreOf course there are other Western fusion dishes too in the menu for you to choos

Of course there are other Western fusion dishes too in the menu for you to choose from, thus we decided to have a mixed array of both Easten and Western fusions as well

But when it came, I was quite disappointed as the portion was not huge at all. It came with spices blended rice, asam prawn, beef rendang, and a huge fried chicken thigh. The best part of the dish would be the fried chicken thigh.

I was initially skeptical when my fried ordered the fried dessert here to share with me. The banana was coated in a light layer of batter and fried unlike some stalls which has thick coating. The unique combination of vanilla flavor ice-cream and syrup makes it a little too sweet for me. But I do like the combination as the piping hot bananas melt the ice-cream and gives it a gooey sensation.

- Madam Kwan nasi Lemak-

Nasi Lemak (RM 14.20) is one of the specialty of Mdm Kwan. In fact most of the customer who walked into their restaurant will order this. The fluffy coconut flavoured rice is aromatic, served with thick and creamy curry chicken, sambal and egg.. great choice to choose from since they are so famous with it. And everytime i am in KL, it is a must to go to madam Kwan. The fragrant rice is always my favorite and i am falling in love with the coconut flavored rice and the nice smell of the curry chicken

I am not sure about others but this place gets my vote for having the best nasi lemak in town. Although pricy, it has all the qualities I find in a good plate of nasi lemak. The rice is fragrant and has a heavy aroma of santan. The nasi lemak comes with two pieces of curry chicken and acar. The chicken is cooked just nice and goes well with the gravy. Like any nasi lemak, there is a healthy amount of peanuts and ikan bilis to go with the rice.
