"One of Las Carretas Favorite Pastas! Tossed with Chilean Mussels, Clams With Plenty of Garlic, Dried Chilies, Onions & a Dash of Fresh Pesto"

I laughed out when the dishes arrives, pity the mussels I thought.

As it was my dining partner that ordered this dishes that day, I only get to taste it a little bit. But that's more than enough, the scent of olive oil were all over the noodle, and the juice splashes out from your mouth while you bite those fat clams.

As for the mussels, I'm not really a mussels person, so I'd rather not comment. She says it was good, that's it.

I have to make it clear, I am not familiar with Mexican food.

I can only point at the menu to order this Filete de Lubina al Carbon (copy-pasted from the official website of las carretas).

But this fish, THIS FISH!

"Seabass Fillet Lightly Seasoned and Charbroiled to Perfection and Accompanied with "El Rancho" Dip, Baked Potato, Salsa, Mexican Rice, & Beans"

This was stated in the menu.

This dishes surprised me with the decoration, the first impression for me was some kind of bugs but then realize the design was a fish head.

The mushroom sauce were finely seasoned to match the fish, and I couldn't leave any pieces of the mushroom behind.

Tortilla Chips and Salsa, standard appetizer for any Mexican restarant.I really suspect it is freshly made in the morning or we're so lucky that the new stock just arrived, as it is THAT crunchy that I actually bit my lips, no exaggerating.I don't know Mexican food that much, but I didn't leave any of the salsa sauce inside the small bowl when I'm fininshed.Tortilla chips and salsa sauce, the perfect match.

Las Carretas is located in Taipan USJ and it is nicely decorated with a Mexican style restaurant with great ambiance. There was even sombreros and big black hanging candle holders on the wall. Here is a complimentary chips and salsa for us to much while waiting for the main dish to arrive.

WHEN you walk into Las Carretas Restaurant and Bar in USJ Subang Jaya, the restaurant's deco, made with memorabilia from all over the globe gives it a friendly feeling without the ostentation. The walls are lined with paraphernalia, ranging from car license plates to huge photographs collected throughout the years, plus, not forgetting also the many contributions from friends and customers. The crew are so nice and the food tastes superb. This place would be a paradise for foodie amigos. Yareba~

Anyway, the 'grande' portion always left us without any room for desserts. Their portions can be very big. Las Carretas is a great place to go for a good meal and a friendly atmosphere.

The service is excellent with lots of recommendations on what to have for dinner/ lunch. Price is reasonable. Food is good. A nice Mexican restaurant to try.
