Ice Lemon Tea. My colleague strongly recommended Kader Banana Leaf rice, so that day, the whole group of us went there to give it a try. Apart from the banana leaf rice and a variety of dishes, most of us ordered the ice lemon tea. The ice lemon tea came with a slice of lemon. The tea taste was very strong and it has the sourness from the lemon too. It was a very good drink.

Manchurian Prawns. After we placed our order, our colleague added on another signature dish – Manchurian Prawns, as he strongly recommended it. Indeed, when it was served, the prawns were covered with the Manchurian gravy. The gravy was thick, spicy and very aromatic. The prawns were not too small, and it was succulent. Although the dish was a bit oily, but I don’t care since it was delicious.

Mutton rendang. Once we were seated, we were so hungry, and placed our order immediately. The mutton rendang had a thick gravy and aromatic. All the spices attached to the mutton nicely. Some pieces of the muttonwere tender but some were a bit tough to bite off from the bones. This dish was spicy and slightly salty. I do hope that their mutton could be tenderer and it would be perfect.

Fried fish. We ordered the fried fish for three person. The fish topped with fried onions. It was not so crispy, but the marination was good. This could be better if the fish was served hot. When it arrived on our table, the fish and the fried onions were already cold, which deducted some points from us. Apart from that, the fish was moist and sweet. It was not too oily nor salty.

Fried Chicken. It was our standard order to go for fried chicken as we do not know which other chicken varieties to order. The fried chicken came with raw onions and a lime. The fried chicken was freshly deep fried and was golden brown. The skin was very crispy and the meat was moist. I tasted a little bit of marination on the coating, it was slightly salty. Not a bad dish.

Fried Squid. Apart from the fried stuffs, we only knows how to order fried stuffs, as we were not that adventurous. The squid was deep fried with onions too. The onions were sweet and crispy. The squid were cut into smaller pieces, I like this because it made it easier for me to eat. The squids were fresh and springy. The coating was crispy and full of spices, not really spicy and not too salty.

Lemon Ice.Since it was a hot day, and we were eating spicy and heating stuffs, we ordered lemon ice. It was a tad different from the conventional limauais. A piece of lemon was being put into the water and it exerted very tangy and sour flavour to it. We enjoyed this drink very much as it opened up all our appetite. Although ice were used, it did not dilute the taste of the drink.

Vegetables condiments. The banana leaf rice came with some condiments: lady fingers, raddish, and dhal vegetables. I like the lady fingers as it was cooked with big peanuts, it was soft and not salty. The raddish was slightly spicy but it was soft. The dhal vegetables were slightly bland but I still mixed it with my rice. Out of the three condiments, I enjoyed the lady fingers the most.
