Deep fried fish paste. While we were struggling of what to order and kept on looking at the photos of the dishes pasted on the wall, the captain recommended their signature fish paste. So we ordered that. It was somewhat similar to lobak but in flat and bigger piece format. The fillings were soft, which we do not like it, the batter was not crispy too despite being deep fried.

Claypot pork belly with salted fish. The pot was filled with ingredients such as sliced pork belly, onions, ginger and dried chilies. The salted fish smell was empowering and it gave the pork belly a salty taste. The dry gravy was salty and spicy, definitely had to eat together with rice. The pork belly was a well mixture of fats and lean meat, that made it so soft.

自从上次在家里想要自己煮奶油虾可是却又没预期的好后就决定要吃多点外面的先,以做参考,这家的奶油虾也蛮不错的,把虾子炸得很脆,奶油的份量也适中,不会太油腻,可以吃得比较多,美中不足的是上桌时有点凉了。

Out of all the dishes we ordered, there must be a vegetable dish, just to make the dinner healthier. We ordered the stir fried spinach with garlic. It was a plain dish with only garlic to add to the spinach flavour. The leafy parts were soft but the branch parts were slightly tough. The dish was not oily and it was slightly sweet in flavour. This is just a standard dish and nothing to shout about.

Deep fried and braised fish in sauce (“hong siu” style). The fish was relatively big and covered with fried beancurd, vegetables, ginger, carrot, chilli, cauliflower and black fungus. The fried fish has slightly fishy taste. The hong siu sauce was really up to standard, salty and slightly sweet. It was thick and good enough to go with rice. The ginger taste was not strong. The vegetables were crispy and sweet.

The deep fried brinjal is my must-order dish whenever I patron this restaurant. It has become my family and friends’ favourite as well. The brinjals were fried together with huge amount of garlic that made this dish flavourful. The brinjals were thickly cut, soft and salty. I tasted a bit of pepper in the batter too. Despite a little bit oily, this dish was so addictive.

这道Sotong炒的非常的香脆。咸蛋放得特别的多。炒得金黄色的非常好看。sotong外层的面粉非常的薄,不会有重重的面粉和油炸味。他们选用的sotong也非常的新鲜,非常有嚼劲。一大碟不用一下就被枪光了

Salted Fish With Pork Belly in Claypot was a delicious claypot dish from Hua Shen. The dish came pipping hot. The salted fish smells really good. It's quite an oily food due to the pork belly. The pork belly served in this dish are all very fattening, only little bit of skinny meats were found. So the dish is full of fats from the pork belly. Nevertheless, it was very salty but nice to eat.

Signature fried Tilapia fish with nuts. This was an interesting combination. The fish was topped with soft nuts, onions, ginger, spring onions and some chili slices. The nuts were big and boiled to softness, it was sweet. The gravy was sweet and not salty. The onions gave a pungent taste to the fish. The fried fish was fresh and succulent. The ginger masked the fishy smell of the dish. As a whole, the fish tasted sweet and light. A very clear dish for the people who prefer light gravy.
