The BKT is one of the memorable ones despite the many other BKT shops and restaurants in Klang. The best thing is, the branch is amazingly located at near bukit tinggi and would make it simple for us coming from kota kemuning.
The BKT soup here has a strong herbal and spices which definitely kicks in upon the first sip itself. The meats are tender and delicious with the entire rib served in the pot. Throughout the meal, we could request for additional soup at no charge. And of course, any authentic BKT meal would not be complete without the mandatory yau cha kuey. Be prepared to risk missing the yau char kuey as they might just be out of stock if business is good on that particular day.
The vegetables are nothing to be bragged about but it was good enough and ample to complete the meal and make it wholesome with a good balance of fiber and cellulose.
And honestly what impresses me is their own pack of chinese tea. Probably the first BKT restaurant to packet their own chinese tea leaves.

Another bah kut teh restaurant. The restaurant is well decorated. It is not like those traditional bah kut teh store with simple design. The design of the restaurant is tradtional chinese style. We have try both dried bah kut teh and soup bah kut teh . I prefer soup bah kut teh here. The dried bah kut teh tastes is not strong. The soup bah kut teh is quite nice. The soup is rich in flavor.

Assam Sting Ray - RM15I noticed that it was easy to order assam string ray in any klang bak kut teh shop. But what makes Fong Keow special is their assam sauce in the sting ray dish. The sting ray is being steam together with the homemade assam sauce which got the balance of the spiciness and sourness to tantalize your tongue. Without the fishy taste, the Assam Sting Ray is flavorful and appetizing.

Sauteed String Beans - RM15I ended the meal with Fong Keow Sauteed String Beans as one of my veggie dish. The way Fong Keow prepared this dish was too simple by just are stir fried the beans with plain garlic. I did not really fancy the string beans this time though. They should add dried shrimp for flavor. As I felt it was a tad too overcooked leaving the string beans feeling soft and mushy.

Now I know how Fong Keow Bak Kut Teh managed to stick around for so long, even when faced with fierce competitions from the other restaurants, they do serve some good food.Twin Mushroom with Oyster - RM18This dish is incredibly quick and easy. Two types of mushrooms; the Shiitake mushrooms and Shimeji mushrooms is being cooked with oyster sauce. The mushrooms are being boil rapidly until the mushrooms are well coated and the sauce has thickened. A very simple but tasty dish.

If a soup is too salty or too plain it puts me off. Here it had the perfect balance between those two extremes. There was a strong hint of herbal taste to it, way better than some other bak kut teh soups which I had that tasted only of the soy sauce. The meat inside the soup had been boiled for a long time, ensuring it's softness which virtually peels off the bone.

Fried You Tiou - RM1.50

Any Bak Kut Teh meal would not be complete without the mandatory Fried You Tiou (Deep fried dough fritter). It is being deep fried until crispy and golden in color. Fong Keow prepared in generous portions at only RM1.50. It is being cut into smaller pieces so that we can easily dip into the soup.

I love the savoury and crispy part of the Fried You Tiou, and after dipped into the soup, it will still retain its crispiness albeit slightly softer soaking in all those soupy goodness. Yum ..

Fong Keow Dry Bak Kut Teh (1pax) - RM13Before I came to KL, I did not know about the Dry Bak Kut Teh as Penang does not usually serve it this way. Fong Keow Dry Bak Kut Teh (1pax) - RM13

Before I came to KL, I did not know about the Dry Bak Kut Teh as Penang does not usually serve it this way. It then has become my favourite dish, due to it's deliciously savoury flavour.

Cooked with generous amounts of pork meat and with lots of spices and black sauce. It will be cooked in slow fire until the soup and gravy are 3/4 dry out. Delicious dry bak kut teh must not missed out dried squids, dried chillies and ladies fingers, served in claypot. It's really hard not to love this dish.

Sweet from the black sauce, salty also from the sauce, savoury from the meat, and lots of spices from the Chilli thrown inside the dish. That pretty much sums up what Fong Keow Dry Bak Kut Teh is all about.

Loh Bak (Small) - RM13To me, nothing can better my mother's rendition of the famous Loh Bak, but Fong Keow's version wasn't bad at all. The small portion comes in four sticks. A good loh bak has to have lots of meat in it, with some pieces of fats to make sure it tastes soft and not too dry. The Loh Bak consists of marinated the minced pork, rolled in thin soybean sheets and then deep fried until golden color, while maintaining the softness of the mean. Nestum Mantis Prawn - RM18Never thought that Fong Keow as a Bak Kut Teh Restaurant will has a great Nestum Mantis Prawn. It turned out to be a good surprise as the dishes were really good. Served in a bed of Nestum, with spices, curry leaves and chilles, it really brought out the flavour. The sizes of the mantis prawns are big enough and deep fried until crispy while maintaining the juiciness of the prawns. It is even great if served hot and straight from the kitchen.
