we picked some bread from display area. when we are there the bread has not much left but we still manage to grab some signature like sausage bun, vege bun, potato buns etci seldom eat that much of bread in a go because most of the time i would just order cakes. What a good chance for me to have a try in all these flavors because we could share the bread in cary selections.

Anna would wanna try the bread here so she bought sausage bread...But! the sausage is slightly different than what we usually got from market. The sausage they used here is slightly thinner, the color looks pale rather than red like those cheap sausages. So i believe that they did use quality material to produce the bread here. What a different experience from normal bakery make you feel you are in some other countries else.

i m not a fan of durian cheese cake but the durian cheese cake taste not bad, My friend who the huge friend of durian says that this cake have a real-durian taste. Not really a big slice but the deep strong cheese texture of it does give you a big impress. And she highly recommend it! Well, i might need to drink a lot of water or coffee to get the durian taste out of my mouth.

I think this baguette must be their signature dish as the label here wrote ficelle on the display card. Slightly smaller than normal baguette size.I m here for tea with 3 of my ladies friend. Ficelle is actually owned by the same owners of Levain Boulangerie at Jalan Imbi. That said, if you love the latter, you'll definitely love Ficelle. It has always the same feel, interiors and exteriors deco, ambience and products. Only difference is that it's pretty small and only has outdoor seating. However, it's located at the corner with some pretty shady trees surrounding it.. so dining here is a pleasant experience Though be forewarned parking can be quite a problem. Back to the food.. fo

Though be forewarned parking can be quite a problem. Back to the food.. for breads, I love their croissants and brioches. yums! The croissants are flaky and buttery..just the way I like it! The brioches are delicious.. do try the chocolate ones. Their buns are just OK. Durian bun tasted a bit fake, and chicken floss bun not as good as Bread Story's. The spaghetti aint bad too.. do try out the Napoleon and Aglio Olio!

After hearing recommendations from my cousin about this place, i decided to visit Ficelle Boulangerie & Patisserie for high tea. Those who have been to Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie will find similarities in these two places in terms of their pastry, menu and interior. There were a number of breads, sandwiches and dessert to choose from. I had a cup of cappuccino and a set of assorted fruit tarts.

seafood aglio olio, better than I thought, but too much oil left in the plate.
I prefer it t be dryer, less oil visible on the plate. generous on seafood, i found more than 4 shrimps and many squid pieces.

Angry pizza. from the name I can guess that it's a spicy pizza and yes, it is spicy. but i didn't get angry eating it. LOL
the pizza crust is thin and look like indian's naan. good for sharing as the size is around a regular size pizza.
also, recommend to try their japanese dishes, there are more selection of japanese meal here, compared to Levain in Imbi.

We rarely seek sustenance in this section of the Klang Valley, but KLUE's recent recommendation of Ficelle strengthened our resolve to make an expedition here. Ficelle is under the same management as Levain Boulangerie, so the similarities in the setting and servings are easily explained. This is a smaller venue though, with only outdoor seating. We'd rate these behind Nathalie's, Babycakes and T Forty Two's, but ahead of Whisk's. They taste fine, with bold, rich flavors. But the texture could be better: what should be crisp isn't crisp enough, while what should be airy falls slightly short of that.

Blurring the lines between both outlets: Levain's house-made chocolates (not available at Ficelle), packed in beautiful boxes with wide-ranging fillings: cinnamon, coconut, caramel, hazelnut, nougat, pistachio, macchiato, jasmine tea & almond marzipan.

Durian custard donut. Die-hard fans of the spiky fruit might scorn this as timid and mild-tasting, though the rest of us will surely savor its creaminess.

My personal favourite was this monster of a bun - the Maple French Bread (RM 4.80). I loved the thin layers intricately laced with maple syrup. The outside crust was chewy but the insides were soft and moist; high reminiscient of bread and butter pudding. Each bite held a tinge of the fragrant maple syrup flavour. Adam didn't like this as much and it really was too big for me, so this unfortunately went unfinished.

We also tried Ficelle's brioches in the form of adorable cubes - a Caramel Brioche (RM 1.50) and a slightly larger Chocolate Broiche (RM 2). A brioche (apparently pronounced bri-yosh) is supposed to be a French bread that is light and buttery due to its content of butter, milk & eggs amongst others. Google Images shows pictures of brioches that are anything but square, so I'm guessing the cubes are a Ficelle-inspired novelty.Several reviews online complimented the brioches, so we decided to try

Several reviews online complimented the brioches, so we decided to try both. The dough was certainly light and airy, but the fillings weren't all that rave-worthy. The caramel was the better one; it had more flavour and the texture was silky (it oozed out of the dough when we cut it open!) so try this one if you must. Don't bother with the chocolate.
