I am not good at choosing good themed cafe, especially during the trends mushroomed since past few years. (I would be overwhelmed by the fact that which offers best photo place instead of the quality of the foods) Well, back to the topic, three or four years back, the number of themed cafe in Melaka may not be as much as now, but today, from where I stand, every part of Melaka has its very own of modern and themed cafe.Calanthe Art is one of the first cafe that pops out of the hipster era - ya know, cool concept, retro, vintage decor and also fancy presentation of its cuisine. Located deep in one of the streets in Jonker Street, I find it hard to first find it (but now, I tend to remember it by heart ) My first experience there was during the night, accompanied by a street musician synchronising songs via mini piano just outside the cafe, extremely nice and adds spices to the atmosphere. The best thing about Calanthe Art is it's 13 states coffee which tasted magnificent as it is different from any other coffees you've tasted and I believe the spices used in all of their cuisines are home made / inherited recipe from their ancestors.I've tried it's chicken chop with home made blackpepper - top notch! I love the blackpepper sauce, and the Chocolate drink too My friend ordered sandwiches (which is huge in portion) and Briyani rice with rendang. We are all satisfied with the foods. The only lack of this cafe is it's space for groups and privacy, the rest is okay!

Calanthe Art Cafe is totally an art cafe.The place fills with random artifacts from the past. There is an old TV that have been converted into aquariums, antique furniture to quirky quotes, this art cafe will definitely blow your mind away. The staff are friendly too. They even help us adjust the lighting for picture taking!We did not try the food as it had a limited selection but we had a cup of green tea latte which was above average and worth a try!Prices are good too. You do not have to spend more for just a cup of coffee!

这杯饮料叫Banana Cap' Freeze. 我本身不太能喝咖啡，喝了会全身怪怪来的。很好奇香蕉配上cappucino咖啡在加点caramel syrup有什么味道吗？发现香蕉不管配上什么都很棒。香蕉无意间把这杯饮料变得更加可口，香。喝了咖啡的我，会心跳加速，精神紧张，不过这杯不会让我有难受的感觉。
