The Loaf at Great Eastern Mall is their latest addition, opened just about 6-8 months ago. It's location is a bit of a problem though; as it's located OUTSIDE the mall without any connection to the INSIDE of the mall, making it pretty inconvenient for shoppers. Fans have to practically walk all the way outside just to get to the bakery. Also it's a small bakery with a mini oven for reheating and that's it! No commercial ovens in sight.. which means they bake the stuff elsewhere and transport to Great Eastern Mall to display on the shelves. I didn't quite like that.. Anyway my favorites are their Ochis, Pineapply Ham Bun and Blueberry Cream Cheese Bun. 繼續閱讀

I went to the Loaf at the Great Eastern Mall to pick up some fresh bakeries early in the morning. While browsing through their simple plain old shelf, I spotted a new oyaki- Green Tea Oyaki. So I pick up one, and went ahead to make the payment while informing their staff to heat it for me. From the outer look, you can see that the oyaki is very soft and it was like very few flour has been added into the making of this oyaki. One bite and I can feel the creaminess of the oyaki with a hint of green tea on it. It was very creamy but not too cheesy. 繼續閱讀

The Loaf serve everything is made fresh and baked daily with master pastry chefs.Cranberry Cheese Cake one of my favourite pastry at The Loaf.It a soft butter rolls dough with cheese and dried cranberry.Love the mixture taste with the creamy, sweet and slightly tangy of some lemon cream cheese and the chewy dried cranberry. The almond leaf from The loaf used to be one of my favourite pastries from this bakery. I said used to because they changed the recipe recently and it bombed big time. The new recipe made the almond leaf smaller flatter and changed the taste completely. The old almond leaf used to be crunchy and airy but the new recipe is just a piece of flat stone hard biscuit. Apart from that, the layer of syrup is too much for me to handle. I miss the old almond leaf as there was a layer of sugar coating but the new one has only a layer of syrup which is harden. 繼續閱讀

Breton is a classic french cookie, native from Normandy France. A good quality butter is the main key to produce this delectable high tea titbit. Truly speaking, The Loft have done a great job on it.the biscuit have a nicely crisscross pattern on the top and golden brown tinted around the edge.its texture utterly light and fluffy. each bite indeed crunchy and leaving a wonderful combination of sweetness and saltiness on your palate. 繼續閱讀
