i try the Beef Balls Bolognais in papa john. they have outlet in tropicana and one in kl festival all i have known off. their pizza is quite tasty and this round i try the pasta instead. but to my dissapointment the pasta taste is just average and beef ball is too big portion and lucky they cooked in the tomato paste which i like itthey also have pastas, baked pastas and even baked rice dishes

We ordered two pans, one of which was their recommended appetizer, the Cheesesticks (RM 6.50). Unlike anything we're used to from the other pizza places, Cheesesticks at Papa John's come on their hand-tossed dough with their signature garlic base. It's basically a 6" pizza with only cheese, sans the toppings. The dough was lovely, piping hot; soft and springy throughout and crunchy on the sides.Together with the cheesesticks also came two dishes - Papa John's signature dipping sauces, the garlic sauce and the tomato dip. The cheesesticks on its own were already soft, cheesy and garlic-y, but dipped into the garlic sauce was even more pure unadulterated sin.Our half and half - Aloha Chicken & All the MeatsFor our regular pizza, we decided on half and half to try more toppings, which cost us RM 21.90 for a 9" pizza. Adam (being the carnivore that he is, expectedly) chose All the Meats which was apparently a Papa John's classic. It's a combination of pepperoni, Italian sausage, chicken roll and ground beef. What I thought strange was that the ground beef was marinated with bunga cengkih (clove, in English), which led to that pungent aroma overpowering the rest of the pizza. I've always thought the cengkih flavour to be very Asian, and this fusion didn't work for us at all. Adam couldn't enjoy his meat properly with that lingering taste.I went for my usual favourite topping, Aloha Chicken comprising of grilled chicken, chicken sausage and obviously, pineapples. It was standard fare, but I would have liked it less salty and my pineapples a tad juicier.Again, I loved the luscious hand-tossed dough, but evidently, the toppings were rather disappointing.

Papa John's is an international pizza restaurant from USA and is the world's third largest pizza company. They make good pizza, pasta and of course, calzone. This world renowned company has landed in Malaysia, with Times Square being the first outlet, and soon opened in Tropicana City Mall, Sunway Pyramid, Jusco Equine Park and IOI Mall.The calzone looks like a giant curry puff. It is actually pizza dough folded into hemisphere, and it is filled with mushroom, chicken and cheese. It is also named as pizza pocket. Cutting through the calzone, I can see melting cheeze oozing out from the calzone, and the chicken mushroom filling followed by. The hot filling tastes so well with the pizza crust, now I like this more than their pizza.

Papa John's is now having a lunch time promotion where you could enjoy a cool glass of Ice Lemon Tea, a bowl of creamy and rich soup, and a choice of Pizza or Baked Cheese Rice for just RM9.90 and it is valid through the weekend tooThe baked cheese rice is basically rice, chicken, and mushroom topped by a layer of cheese baked and melted with some slight crunch on every corner of it. The cheese on top also act to keep the contained below it warm long enough for you to finish it. The chicken chunk was small but at a suitable and convenience to fill every spoon and it is a generous mix portion for the price you paid.
